Getting shot was one thing, but actually dying on the job went against every order they’d been given.

I really love this insane series about reformed teenaged car thieves, turned secret government military agents, who masquerade as chop shop men in Denver. The writing is excellent, the humour fantastic, and the storylines and characters completely over the top. That said, this book had some weak moments, and the overall feel was too ‘youthful’ for me for adult fiction.

I was really looking forward to Kid and Nikki's story. While not bad, it just didn't quite live up to my expectations. I'm not sure I like almost half the book being taken up with the secondary storyline in preparation for a future book. I would rather understand the main characters better with just a hint of future plot lines. Janzen pretty much splits it right down the middle. In this book, while the other story was intriguing, it really did take away from the overall interest.

This was, IMO, the best one of the series so far. The most coherent story line (even though there was a little bit of a "perfect storm" of bad guys) and a romance that's been building since book 1.

Once again, though, the secondary romance became more compelling than the primary one, for me. This has happened in every book, it seems. I have no complaints about how Kid and Nikki's romance played out, so maybe I'm just fascinated with beginnings? In any case, I really enjoye More...

This is the Steele Street book I was waiting for since the first book. Since my first glimpse of the electric, unforgettable connection between Kid Chaos and Nikki. These were two characters who were so different, so charismatic together, and whose love story became more weighty, more important with each book, every near miss, and every heartbreak. Forewarning, do NOT read this one without having read the others. You could, but you'd miss SO much. These two deserve the bits of their stories in t More...

I have been dying to read this book ever since this couple was first introduced in Crazy Hot. WHENEVER these two are on the same page of a book, the book might as well burst into flames...that's how intense and passionate these two are. So much so, that any other couple in their midst is completely overshadowed.

Kid and Nikki were destined for each other since their first meeting. Since then Kid has lost his brother in a brutal fashion, they've been separated more than they've been t More...

If you’ve read the earlier books in the series, you know all about Kid and Nikki. Well, Kid is back from his revenge and has decided to tell Nikki goodbye. Nikki goes to his place to do exactly the same thing. Fortunately, or unfortunately, they end up on the run together. Their relationship is interesting. It’s obvious they both care about each other but they still have Kid’s dead brother, Nikki’s very alive fiancee and their very different personalities pushing them apart.

Just to no More...

This is one Steele Street installment that definitely should not be read as a stand-alone. Kid and Nikki have been scene stealers since the first book, and the author has been doing a magnificent job of leaving the reader wanting more of this dynamite couple. Their book was highly anticipated, and while it wasn’t exactly the showpiece I was expecting, it didn’t necessarily disappoint, either.

Kid is a very different character to the other Steele Street heroes. His entry to the SDF (Sp More...

Every time I pick up one of Tara Janzens novels, I want to kick myself for waiting so long to read the next book in the series! They're so good! And they're great, IMO, for getting out of reading slumps ( where nothing you pick keeps your attention)!

In crazy kisses, I have to say, I loved the hero, Kid! He was awesome! So kick ass, so tough but still honorable, such a good guy, and devoted, so devoted to his heroine! I think he's one of my all around favorite heroes!

Kid Chaos is finishing up his mission in South America. He’s been gone for seven months. Before heading back to Steele Street, he needs some R&R in Panama, to get his head back on straight. But when he arrives at his house, it doesn’t take him long to spot the little bikini that should not be there. Even quicker, he figures out who it belongs to. Nikki. Seven months, why hadn’t he called her for seven months? He is still deeply in love with her. But how does she feel? In addition to struggling w More...

A fun, hot book. Nikki and Kid finally get to have their own book, but it would have been better if they had had the conversation Janzen kept promising. Janzen has built their relationship up over several books, and at the beginning of the novel she addresses their problems, but they never do. Of course action is important in romantic suspense, but there's a way to balance it with the romance.

That said, I love Skeeter. I love that Travis is becoming more filled out, and I love Ja More...

We know what's been happening between Kid and Nikki right from Book #1, and this one is just like the first three, UNPUTDOWNABLE! Totally wicked! Action, right from the get-go and doesn't let up. Just when you're given a moment to breath, something happens to get your pulse racing again - in more ways than one. No matter how many times you read it, the men are still trying to protect the women, figuring that if they aren't in your life, you're perfectly safe. Not So! Ever! We know right from the More...

I have been waiting for this one for a while. While there was never a question of chemistry between Kid and Nikki, it was more of a question of would/could Kid stay around to explore the possibilities between them.

I liked that Nikki tried to go on with her life after Kid left, especially when she never heard from him. I also loved then when it really came to make a choice Nikki ran.

I was annoyed that Kid couldn't send her a message some how. It would have been so easy, More...

I wanted to like the book more because of Nikki and Kid. Well, I didn't.

At the beginning, we met a new character, C. Smith Rydell. I didn't care for him much. (but I will in book #6)

The reunion between Kid and Nikki was kind of weird and fake. Then, they run for their lives, get back to Colorado and the bad guys follow. I found myself waiting for the bad guys to make their move so Nikki and Kid can fix their relationship.

The fiance thing was pointless but More...

As all the other books by her this is a fast paced read. I enjoyed it. Janzen is one of those authors that write a great story that makes you wonder why the hell you're behind on her. Kid Chronopolous life is a scary mess. He soon brings this scary mess to Nikki McKinney door. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I didn't enjoy this as much as the first 3 books. Kid was so detached to the point of unfeeling. I hated how he treated Nikki and felt that she should just move on. I was totally not feeling the lurve here.

The introduction to Travis and Jane thing was very intriguing though. Heading to Skeeter's story next.

Again. Just SO MUCH FUN. This book takes place over two days, which is ridiculous, but it doesn't READ ridiculous. Kid and Nikki are that couple that you just don't understand why those two crazy kids can't make it work. Surprisingly, there isn't a lot of Kid-and-Nikki-relationship conversation in here, but somehow, there's still relationship evolution and conflict resolution. I completely felt the love and the frustration between the two of them.

Not what I wanted for Kid and Nikki, who we have been following since book one. It was a good addition to the series, but lagged in places, and the main couple was overrun by Travis and Jane. Speaking of Travis and Jane's storyline, I really liked the Rats :P

Loved reading the conclusion of Kid and Nikki, although I did feel like I was just trying to get through it to get to Dylan's book. However, it wasn't the fault of the book.

Loved seeing Travis come out of his shell a bit more too.

I feel kind of cheated with this book. Almost half of it was spent on Travis and Jane and setting up for their story. There was not near enough Kid and Nikki for me. It was like, we already knew they were going to end up together because of the previous books so there was not any building of the relationship, it was more working through. And while I like the working through parts, it just felt a little less than I would have liked because it had so much else going on. I realize that Travis and J More...

Kid makes his reappearance and Nikki isn't too happy about it. This book introduced Nikki and her wonderful art, like nothing you've ever imagined. Another great book in the Steele Street series.

This book was a favorite in the series. I love the characters and the plot, but sometimes it's hard to see These two as mature adults. They seemed so young at times.

I still enjoyed this one overall, but I found it less interesting than the previous ones and was pretty let down by the ho-hum resolution to Nikki and Kid's storyline.
