This is a unique Pendragon book: It takes place on Earth. Even more unique: In the 1930's. I don't want to spoil anything, but Machale did an amazing job with this book, piecing it together and making it sound realistic. I really enjoyed it.

My favorite book yet in the series, you can really conected with this territory!!! Bobby must not only save one world he must save three the past the present and the future not to mention Halla which is every thing in all of space...No pressure... wrong Bobby, spader and Gunny, must find the turning point of the teritory First Earth..If something gose wrong not only one territory will be destroyed but three and to make matters worse this is could really hit home for Bobby (literally). The book that I have been reading this week is the third book of the Pendragon series, called The Never War. This book is as good as the old ones. But this one is much better, because it takes place on our Earth, New York City, 1937! World War II time, so makes me very interested. By the way, if you have history classes on World War II, this book can give you quite some good facts. Very informative book.

The rising action and the climax join together very well. The rising action, is mai More...

Okay, this book is not like any of the other Pendragon books. This deals with the past. This deals with the past of Earth. Welcome to First Earth!
Bobby and Spader end up in New York 1937. This would have been really cool if they hadn't been attacked as soon as they stepped out of the flume. Two gangsters met them at the flume with loaded guns at the ready. Bobby and Spader are saved by Gunny Van Dike, the traveler from First Earth. Once they land in the Manhattan Tower Hotel, the h More...

There are many types of themes and issues that are happening in “pendragon” right now. Here they are: Friendship issues, War vs. peace, Good vs. evil, and a bunch more. The main one for me though is Friendship issues. The main character, Bobby, and his friend, Spader, are having friendship issues.

Spader is mad at an evil guy named St. Dane for killing his father. Spader goes wild with anger when he hears about or sees St. Dane. This doesn’t help Bobby stop St. Dane from destroying H More...

I think what I love most about this series is the different worlds. Every book, there's a completely new setting to lose yourself in, complete with a new cast of characters. But of course, sometimes the best ones from previous novels come along for the ride.

Bobby Pendragon now finds himself in a very familiar territory indeed; First Earth, his home planet in the 1930's. And he quickly discovers that the "tipping point" here has everything to do with time. Somewhere, som More...

I think that this book has a very interesting and adventurous plot which allow the readers to be engrossed in it. This book says about a boy name Bobby Pendragon who is a traveller who flumes to other territories of different space and time to save it from its turning point. Their enemy who is Saint Dane is also a traveller but has different ambition which is to lead the territories to total destruction which will cause the fall of halla. This book was not as good as the second book in the Pendragon series, but it is still a phenomenal book. This is the third book in the Pendragon series out of ten books. I liked this book because it combines fantasy, adventure, and science fiction. To make sense of the summary you would need to read the first two books because the plot is very confusing.

Bobby Pendragon arrived on first earth with his friend Spader. Then he meets the traveler from first earth, Gunny, right near the flum More...

In this book, Bobby has to travel to First Earth to save the world from Saint Dane.

This book was much better than the last two books. There was a good plot and likeable characters. I actually learned some history in this book!

The only thing I disliked was Mark and Courtney. No offense or anything, but I really do think that this book would be much better without Mark and Courtney. I hate it how Courtney and Mark think they're so smart being direspectful to the employees More...

I think this had to be the most interesting book in the series partly because it took place in 1937 which according to the author is considered "First Earth". There are also a "Second Earth" which takes place in present day Earth, and also a "Third Earth" which takes place in 5010, the future of Earth. I really liked this book because it was in the times of World War II and I've always thought that particular point in history is way interesting! The year was 1937. T More...

This book was a very good contiuation of the serious, Pendragon. The whole series is basically about a boy whos fate was to protect all of the worlds from the evil man known as Saint Dane. His objective is to destroy all of the worlds so he can rule the other world, Halla. But Bobby, the main character, with the help of other travlers, must put a stop to this man because if they dont then humanity is in a lot of trouble. This book is talking about how Bobby travles Saint Dane back to New york bu More...

As I mentioned before, Aspen is seriously addicted to these books. I read them when I have nothing better, and it gives me something fun to talk about with Aspen. They are an easy read that's mostly engaging.

This one was cool because it takes place here on Earth in the 1930's, rather than in a fictional world. Because of that though, it lacked a bit of the imagination and vision that the second book had. It's fun to try to figure out where the subterfuge is this time, and who the More...

Pendragon: The Never War
By: DJ MacHale

Review By: Chase Pixley

Cloral was a sad win for Bobby Pendragon. After saving Cloral his uncle Press died from bullets coming through the flume. After his funeral Bobby and Traveler from Cloral Vo Spader follow Saint Dane to Veelox, where local Traveler Aja Killian tells them that Saint Dane is on First Earth.
Jumping into the flume they appear in... a familiar subway tunnel. Welcome to First Earth, A.K.A 1937. There the More...

The adventures of Bobby Pendragon continue in this third book in the series, bringing the readers into the world of a late 1930s New York City. This book is every bit as exciting as the previous books and will undoubtedly please fans of the series. MacHale manages to describe a hustling and bustling world that the mostly younger audience can take in and imagine for themselves. The immersive settings that the books offer up are the most alluring parts of the series. At the end of each book I am a More...

Bobby and Spader continue the battle for Halla together when they travel to First Earth - Second Earth in the time of 1937. There they meet the Traveler - Gunny van Dyke. There, they spend much time trying to figure out how Saint Dane is trying to twist the territory's future and eventually Bobby's present, but they can't find a single clue. Aside from the fact that Saint Dane tried to burn them to death in warehouse, life for Bobby and Spader returns to almost normal. That is, until they find o More...

This book is about Bobby Pendragon and his adventure to furthermore stop Saint Dane on his quest to destroy Halla( everything that ever was and will be). He finds himself on first Earth which is around 1937. His mission is to stop Saint Dane from disrupting the courses of all three Earth territories by manipulating one, extremely cataclysmic event in Earth's history. I believe that this book would be good for anyone who loves history, action, and fast paced reading. As the preceeding books..... More...

MacHale's imagination seems like it is expanding more and more as he writes his third Pendragon book, The Never War. Another great fantasy adventure with Bobby and the other travelers. As the Never War connects the very real Hindenburg crash with the fantasy of travelers it pulls you more and more into the series.

In my Opinion, the traveler of First Earth, Gunny Van Dyke is just in time to help Bobby with the death of Uncle Press. I like that Gunny is a practically perfect replacemen More...

Moving onto the 3rd Installment of the Pendragon series The Never War, was pleasantly amazing for not only does it feature a planet....sorry territory that we are very much familiar about but a territory that is also in reality is the only livable planet in the solar system (maybe the scientists would one day find more about outer space....).

Here is how the summary goes like:

This book is awesome. I had read the Before the War series, so like with Spader, I already knew who Gunny was. I was THRILLED that Spader stayed around for the story. YES! I shouted inwardly. By now I was DEFINATELY used to his style of writing and was thoroughly enjoying the books. I was like, hey, these are awesome. This one had much less action, I'd say, but it proposed interesting twists to the rules (Hey, I though Denduron had an interesting twist to the rules, but no, here we go int More...

This series is one my girls like me to read with them. I probably wouldn't have read past the first one or two otherwise but I am just glad they still want to include me in their discussions about what they read.

Honestly, I gave this 4 stars because it is just as action-filled and interesting as the first two. As compared to my personal reading, I would probably just give it 3 stars because it is definitely juvenile. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy juvenile fiction quite a lot if it More...

This third installment of the Bobby Pendragon series has the usual glitches--for example, as the whole second book made clear, Courtney and Mark are not the only people who know where Bobby is, since Mitchell does, too; Bobby worries briefly that Jinx might be Saint Dane but decides that "nothing about her set my radar off" (119) though his "radar" was highly inadequate in book two, etc. However, there are far fewer of these errors than in the first two books, and higher inte More...

Overall, Pendragon - The Never War is a very good book. Like any book for me, in the beginning it starts out slow but picks up and gets good at about 50 pages into the book. It is interesting, catchy and filled with action!

The author D.J. McHale is a good, creative writer with lots of good word choices and many similes. It’s one of those books where you can’t put it down; it makes you want to read just one more chapter. . . .

This time he is going to First Earth (Earth in 1937) with his friend Spader, the traveler from Cloral. Along the way he meets the traveler from First Earth Gunny and learns his enemy Saint Dane's plans too attempt to destroy First Earth. If Bobby fails to save First Earth then all of the earth territories are doomed.

This is where I stoped with the pendragon series. I read the first one and was rather entertained by it. I wasent realy pleased with the second one but figured that I would continue to this one. The third book was much like the second so I decided to move on. I was somewhat dissipointed becouse I had heard it was a good book for harry potter fans and becouse I had enjoyed reading the first one. Maybe sometime in the feauture I will read the rest but for now Im done with the Pendragon series.

This is probably the best one out of the whole series since this concerns Bobby a lot since the fight has took place in his home world, more specifically the past of his home world. It takes place in New York 1937, years before he was born. Saint Dane is messing around with First Earth and what Pendragon might choose to do will affect the results of the catastrophic World War II. The fate of Earth's past, present, and future is now written in this fourth book of the awesome Pendragon series.
