Decent coverage of beer and food pairings but so strangely organized to be almost unhelpful. The author goes around the country asking foodies and beer...ies(?) about their pairings but organizes the book geographically rather by anything related to the food or the beer. The recipes in the second half of the book look good, though I haven't had a chance to try any.
This book has a good balance of information and recipes. There is a nice fat section in the beginning with beer info, styles, tips, etc, as well as sections on cheese and chocolate. The second half of the book is dedicated to recipes, and most of them are great.
The product suggestions, pairing suggestions, and recipes were all really interesting. I think my first recipe attempt will be the chocolate stout sorbet, followed by one of the soups. I love the idea of cooking with beer and being really deliberate about pairings!
