Umm, so read this book because I have heard wonderful things about Tracy Brown--'White Lines' in particular but couldnt find that so decided to try out this two-part Snapped series, and liked it---didnt love it..So this story reminds me so much of The Cartel by Ashley and JaQuavis (see review) as it follows an impossibly attractive and powerful drug family and its impact on the four women of the novel. The Nobles family just isnt as cool as the Diamond family from the Cartel and the characters o...more

In the Balance,

Camille is living a charmed life. Even in a bad economy, Camille remains pampered and comfortable in her role as a housewife. Now a year older, Camille is ready to start a family. It seems the more she tries to make a family, the less time Frankie, her husband, is spending at home. Her girls start hinting that Camille may not be as happy as she thinks she is. The more she tries to ignore them, the more her insecurities rise as her husband seems to be spending more and more time w...more

This wasn't my favorite book by Tracy Brown. Mainly because I found Frankie to be a complete and total jerk! And it would be an understatement to say I hated Gillian. Ugh! (view spoiler)[I really wanted those two to get what was coming to them, but they didn't, so the book was kind of ruined for me... (hide spoiler)]I'm going to read Aftermath and hopefully I'll like that one better!

This book was a thrill ride from word go! I enjoyed it more than most of the books I have read. Although the copy that I got from the library was in poor condition and the smell made me wanna puke.

The characters were written in a way that you can understand almost instantly. Everyone knows a Toya, everyone knows a Misa. I loved it. Found myself entrenched in their lives feeling the ups and downs just as if I was part of the group.

I knew I had to read the sequel the minute I started reading thi...more

This is my first book by Tracy Brown. I joined the "We Love to Read Book Club" on Facebook. They are reading Aftermath by Tracy Brown this month. I wanted to buy it, but then realized Snapped was the first book, so I bought both of them.

I am so glad that I was led to this book! Tracy Brown really did a great job building the characters and really giving them personality. There were quite a few characters and I was worried that I would get confused, but I didn't. You really have to pay attention...more

Hoped for More,

Four friends gathering weekly over drinks and dinner form the backdrop to the latest novel by Tracy Brown. These women develop a strong bond of friendship as they discuss life and their issues, mostly stemming from the men in their lives or lack of.

Camille has the life some women wish for. The wife of Frankie B, a well known and respected hustler, she wants for nothing. Her days are spent looking good, pampering herself and being the perfect wife. But while Camille is busy taking...more

The book is good, a little repetitive and a few chapters bore you. Some characters distraught you for example, Camille, shes so absurd chasing Frankie and making imaginations that "he loves her" and that their marriage is perfect. When clearly he's in love with Gillian. Towards the end of the book it gets really good. A lot of events happen all at once, each character has something crazy going on in their life. I immediately started reading Aftermath (pt.2) as soon as I was finished with Snapped...more

I am a great lover of contemporary fiction featuring modern Millies jiggling careers, love lives and family and as a Black lady I always seek out stories about women of African descent whether they are based in the UK, Canada or the US. The last one I read was The Accidental Diva by Tia Williams which was a few years ago. While I was getting my flight from Atlanta to New York I came across Snapped by Tracy Brown in the bookstore. I have never heard of the author but a quick read of the synopsis...more

This book was OK, but I wasn't too thrilled about the way it ended. For me, it was a bit predictable, however, I think that a lot of us can relate to some of the friends that the main character of the book, Camille, had. Camille to me, appeared to be a good woman, however, she refused to read all of the signs, and confront her husband about things that were happeneing right in front of her, for fear of losing him. Maybe she lacked self-confidence - who knows. This book was yet another story abou...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a serious page turner. Tracy Brown does an excellent job of weaving a tale of scandal and suspense that made me want to keep reading. The book begins with a crime scene. You already know that one of the characters has killed someone. As you read about what Camille, Misa, Dominique, and Toya are going through. Anyone of them could be the murderer. I already ordered Aftermath, which is the sequel.

Tracy Brown is one of the reasons I still read street-lit/urban fiction. Where so many authors just don't have "it" - Brown does. She can turn a story into something that you just don't want to put down.
I was hooked from page one and I liked the ending. I thought it would be different.....but I liked the ending as is.
There are a few unanswered questions and that's something I don't like. What happened with Octavia? What was up with Dominque and her father? Even if there is a sequel (and I thin...more

Whem Camille's sister finds out that Frankie's brother has been molesting her son, she loses it and shoots and kills him!
It comes out in the trial that Frankie's brother was raped and molested by his father and Frankie's mother knew about it and did nothing. I read this book in 2010 on my kindle.

It is 2:48 am, and I am mad at Tracy Brown. I couldn't even wait until tomorrow to finish this durn book cause it was durn good to me. But it left too many unanswered questions. If she don't hurry up and finish the sequel that had better be coming soon, I'm gonna lose it. That is all.

From the very first chapter it was intense and full of emotion. The characters were pure throughout. Several separate story lines intertwined magically. It finishes as a juicy cliffhanger that leaves you drooling for more. Next stop: AFTERMATH!

I like it is was like bitter sweet moment it brought tears to my eyes I like that it has a little bit of everything in it but like every one else I did not like how it end but I can not wait for part 2 I hope Tracy finish it with a bang

A little slow at first, gets good in the middle and towards the end, and the ending was a huge let down....i guess i'm looking forward to a sequel. I enjoy Tracy Brown and her previous works and will keep the "hope alive".

This book is about a 4 different women who go through difficulties in their life and everyone around them including family and friends. From murder to seduction and it gets even hotter than the title.

Interesting! It is different from what I normally read, but that's what I wanted! I can't wait to read the next one in the series! Personally, I could see this being a GREAT movie!

This is my third Tracy Brown book and I must say I'm still a fan. Although White Lines was my favorite (also read Twisted) this was a close second. I was however disappointed in the ending. I want to know what happened to the other characters now not have to read another book to know.

This book is really interesting. It starts off kind of slow, but then gradually picks up. It honestly had me feeling distraught to be in the main characters position.

This book started out good but it ended with no conclusion to any of the characters unless it will be a part 2. It was okay but nothing to rave about.

Althought I couldn't put this book down, the characters weren't very likable though. They all had issues and could have used therapy.

I loved this book, it was the first book I've read by Tracy Brown. I was very disappointed in the ending, there has to be a sequel.

I adore Tracy Brown. I have to say that I was really upset about the ending, but after learning that there will definitely be a part two, I can't wait.

This was a n absolutely great book. I loved the different characters and their stories. It kept me on my toes the whole time. The ending was very intense. Can't wait to read book 2.

I love reading Tracy Brown novels. Once I finished Snapped I had to go out and get Aftermath. And loved both books

How do some keep love going and growing strong? Those of you who do, keep on doing what you are doing.

Do you ever know a person, there background, what life has taken them through and if they can be left alone with a child, watch out for family members.

Sometimes our eyes are open and we still can't see...

Loved this book and on to book 2 Aftermath
