Among the best poetry I've ever come across; Blaga, you have my heart.
~Vhis~
If you’re trying to express love, humble desire for knowledge and perfection, if you crave for words beyond expressionism, but within barriers of language, he can summaries for you these needs. Blaga puts into words feelings forged and named by philosophy in never-ending comparisons. He’s a painter, an outcast in a relentless search of the higher meaning. My favourite amongst the poems is NOI ŞI PÂMÂNTUL, with its erotic, beyond time ritual.

What is God ? God is light ! The Poems of Light as humble librarian.
Yigru Zeltil
Probably no other poetry book of the 1910s has managed to age this well. You won't find any exterior reminiscences from Eminescu, nor the dated scenery of symbolists. Maybe we can't believe in metaphysics anymore, but the poems themselves have preserved their elements of surprise. No filler here either. Unlike Blaga's later books, which, fortunately, have their own subtleties and charms...

“Liniste

Atâta linişte-i în jur de-mi pare că aud

ce nu-i al meu.

vin,
vin sa-şi trăiasca mai departe
în noi
viaţa netrăita.

Atâta linişte-i în jur de-mi pare că aud
