Excellent short introductory history of high fashion in the 20th century. Very much recommended to anyone looking for a way to understand the history behind this month's Vogue or BlackBook.

This is a very informative overview of the major fashion movements that impact current fashion, with notes about smaller but still impactful movers and shakers. Some of the photographs are really great. As a reference from which to branch out into deeper investigation, this is excellent in that it provides key characteristics by which to identify the people and trends it covers. The references list is jam-packed with titles for future reading.
