its a great book
Shuayb
Quite summarized, better to read Studies in Early Hadith Literature by the same author but he introduces main hadith books well in this one by shortly describing the methodology of the Muhadditheen and the difference between main six hadith collections.
Yaqeen Sikander
Wonderful book which gives to the reader an understanding of hadith methodology and its preservation. Written in an appealing and intellectual manner...very well researched...An awesome read for anyone curious to know about hadith literature...
Bilal Ali
Probably not as necessary a read anymore given the publication of other more thorough and precise works but certainly an easy, brief, and concise introduction to the science of Hadith by one the foremost Muslim Hadith authorities in the West.
Khalid
Definitely an interesting book to have on the science of Hadith. A good read and I suggest you buy a personal copy because you may want to refer to it again and again.
Sabah
Concise and well-written introduction to this deep and complex topic.
