Land ho! Asterix and Obelix had been lost at sea, but they've finally reached what they think is a Roman colony. Then the Vikings turn up on a voyage of discovery, and the two Gauls realize that they've done something greater and more important: they've discovered a strange New World.

I'm sure that if I could read French, that I would love Asterix even more. The puns must be very difficult to translate fully. However, many of the puns are visual, and as such are still very enjoyable regardless of the language one reads the book in.

This particular version of the adventures of Asterix and Obelix has the duo traveling to the New World and encountering some native Americans. While previous journeys that Asterix has gone on commented on the modern day culture of that ...more

I the part with the Indians because I like the part where Asterix and Obelix are sneaking away from the Indian camp and Obelix steps on a twig and the twig snaps and the Indian guards hears it. When Obelix yells like an Indian and the Indian thinks he's another Indian. The Indian sits down and says, "Ugh!"

Asterix the Great Crossing – a freak storm blows A&O (on an impromptu fishing trip) and a longboat full of Norse explorers across the Atlantic Ocean

My favourite Asterix. It was recommended to me back in the 70's by a 12 year old
Danish girl, though she did say that it portrayed Vikings incorrectly...."They were nice farming people who liked to travel!"

Unless I'm mistaken this is the one in which they inadvertently sail across the Atlantic and encounter some very strange Romans indeed.

I love Asterix comic.. I have it all complete.
I don't like the single authors.. his crack joke is light not as much his partner.
