This is the latest book in Ally Blue's Bay City Paranormal series. First, I have to say I love this series. A hot m/m couple whose romance continues to develop and deepen in each book, strange paranormal happenings, at times emotional and terrifying and poignant. What's not to love? I really recommend reading the entire series.
In An Inner Darkness, the couple, Sam and Bo, are well-established and living together. Bo's ex-wife is still a pain in the ass to Sam and Bo and is always th More...

I really like this series. Even though this is a m/m love story, the continuing plot of the paranormal investigations is a strong element in all the stories. The relationship between Sam and Bo continues to grow and solidify. This story focuses on the interaction and acceptance of Sam by Bo's ex-wife and sons, especially the older boy Adrian who has more in common with Sam than he realizes.

This is the best of the lot so far. I would not go so far as to say you could start the series with this novel, I think there's too much by book 5 that would need a bit more explaining, but I do feel you wouldn't be totally lost. And the sex is hot as always.
SPOILERS!
There's a real story, one that touches on a new subject--poltergeists/teen-caused paranormal activity--rather than everything being about the inter-dimensional gates (though of course the gates come into it More...

Finally, I got my wish in this book - Bo's kids played an important role. I wanted to know if the kids would ever be featured in a prominent role. I liked the kids even though they didn't right away accept Sam into their lives - after all how can they wrap their mind around the huge fact that 1) their parents are getting divorced and 2) their dad is gay and already has a boyfriend. The wife of Bo - omg! I would have bitch-slapped her. It reminded me of GA Hauser's female characters. They drive y

Whoa, and I thought the last book was intense. This one just takes it to another level. Sam and Bo have an established relationship, and Bo's two kids spend time with them. Adrian, however, doesn't seem to care for it, and he's starting to exhibit the same powers as Sam. I was hanging on to the edge of my seat until the very end, because I never knew what would happen next. I hope there are more adventures for Sam and Bo, but it seems like the author will be taking a break from their storyline t

I think this is my favorite of the series so far. It was neat to see more of Bo's kids and the dynamic with his ex. The personal touch made this a lot more interesting than the other "haunting of the week" type plots from the previous books. And of course it's Ally, so the character interactions are great. Good book!

4.5 stars. Very good paranormal m/m romance in which Sam and Bo struggle against Bo's ex-wife in order to help Bo's son control his potentially dangerous telekinesis.
