I wouldn't call myself a comic book fan. I've read a few here and there, but never anything seriously and I have never purchased a comic book. I happened upon this book and thought it would be interesting though. The overall book was pretty interesting, but there were times where I was a bit bored. The book covers from the beginning of comic books through to major motion pictures of today. Excellent cultural history of comic books with an eye towards sociological theory and a focus on how comics moved from marginalized sub-culture to serious art form.
