The books starts with a little girl asking her mom the simple question " Mama, what comes in spring?". She asnwers her questions with things that happen in the spring, but soon each season not only tells the story what the seasons include, but also the story of she fell in love with her father, got married and had a child who they love dearly. I decided to read this book because the cover had the word spring on it and I wanted to read about spring...instead. this is more of a seasons book. Mom met dad in the spring, they got married in the summer, the baby was conceived in Fall, the baby gets bigger in mama tummy in Winter and then the baby is born in Spring. It does make a full circle but it more about life and events than seasons. The pictures are very nice and it is a sweet book just not what I was expecting. Still worth reading!

A mother and child review the seasons highlighting the significance of each for their family. Pastel illustrations give the book the hazy sweet feelings of memories. PreK-2.
