Recommends it for: people who liked my books
I had this sent to me when I was in the joint after reading a blisteringly negative review by Ken Tucker in Entertainment Weekly. After reading what Tucker had written about Madsen and his style-- all of it bad-- I figured it would be right up my alley. I was right. Madsen's poetry is unpretentious and he writes in a clear and easy to understand manner (which is probably why wags like Ken Tucker sniff and say it is not poetry--Tucker thinks Bukowski is a fraud, remember).
