This third book is just as good and thought provoking as the first two.

This once again follows from where the last book leaves off but being told to us through the shepherds that are out in the field just before the messiah is born.

This was written differently then the first but I think it worked to get us into the time of Jesus being born. It definitely set up for the next book well. We still see everything from the point of view of the angels when we are going back to where we left off in the

I consider Chronicles of the Host among the best Books I've ever read. I read them a few years ago, so I was delighted to find a fifth book--Fire and Sword--added to the series and promptly ordered it. Very good book. This takes place in Bethlehem just before Jesus is born. The setting is with the shepherds and the elder one is relating the stories of old. So, you are brought back in time. Ends with the birth of Jesus. Brought tears to my eyes when all of the angelic host were praising God. I would definitely read this again!

The progression of the story is exciting. Although the tone remains the same throughout the book. At times a little draggy but it is a good book overall.
