Guantanamo Bay prisoners we want to talk
Quite possibly one of the worst books I've ever read. I use the term "read" loosely, as I could not, under penalty of death, bring myself to finish this crap-fest. This book tries to follow the DeRavenel dynasty through three generations, which goes more briskly than expected because the DeRavenels are killed off at a pace that far outstrips actual 1920-1940 life expectancy. We're talking more corpses than the Killing Fields, and I didn't give a damn about one of them.

Don't read the review unless you have already read the book or don't mind being "spoiled."

I love Bradford, and "A Woman of Substance" and its early follow-ups remain some of my favorite books ever.

This is a fabulous historical fiction novel, that has intrigue, romance, drama, suspense and lots of beautiful writing. It's been a decade or so, since I've read Bradford's books. It's all about a family line of keeping the business in the family name for having a heir from 1900s to the 1970s.

This was the follow-up, continuation book to the Ravenscar Dynasty. What a sad, but glorious family! It was a fun read and I loved being able to continue the story of a family I loved in the previous book. There was an awful lot of mysterious deaths and much family jealousy ... Great read!

The book started out great and really got my attention but the end seemed kind of rushed...but maybe the next will fill in details she didn't have here.

This is a great story about a very powerful family who has many twists, turns, and tragedy. The story spans from the early 1900's to the 1970's.

I liked this 2nd book of this saga better than the 1st. I'm really looking forward to the 3rd part.
