This is an excellent, concise review of basic astronomy. Short chapters include problems (with solutions) at the end, and brief questions throughout. This is not an in depth review of astronomy, but just a brief overview of the basics. One of the strengths of this book is the inclusion of a lot of web sites and references for further investigation.

I had started this 5th edition years ago and decided to reread and finish it this time. It was a very general overview of lots of topics and got me excited to again did deeper into the world of astronomy and pull my
portaball telescope out again! Especially enjoyed the self test concept!

Wow! That was a whole lot of information. For the most part, it was comprehensible and relent. However, if you're looking for a religious foundation in science, this would be the wrong book.
