3.5 stars. Good action, suspense, and intrigue. Talented and heroic heroine. Don’t expect romantic relationship development.

STORY BRIEF:

Because her life is in danger, her boss Michael brings her in from the field and gives her a job as an analyst at CIA headquarters. He also gives her a new identity. Flat out, I love this series! Opertion Sheba is a must read for anyone who likes romantic suspense. This book has it all, characters to root for, a returning soul mate, a love triangle and it's a political thriller that gives the reader a peek into the world of the CIA. I am wildly impressed with the author's attention to detail regarding the CIA.

Also impressive is the love triangle. Misty Evans does a brilliant job at dealing with a woman in love with two exceptional men. We know one of these...more

This was a really great romantic suspense! The characters are super spies, so it is definitely full of suspense. I think they really took the spying to the next level because they have to spy on spies to clear their name and save the entire country and the CIA. Misty Evans did a marvelous job with this book. The characters are some of my favorites! Julia is a phenomenal character! She is very complex and witty, and it's really no wonder why she has a couple of awesome guys battling for her. Spea...more

I loved this book; it is going to be a great series! If you like romance, suspense, and action then you need to read this book. I stayed up reading this book all night because I just could not put it down. When I got to the end of a chapter, something else happened and I had to read what was next, before I knew it I was finished reading it. I love the characters in this book! Julia was a CIA agent, when her mission was blown and her partner died, they pulled her back to the United States, and ga...more

Operation Sheba definitely did not disappoint. There are spies galore--primarily CIA with some FBI thrown in--and a SEAL task force and female sniper (!) tossed in for good measure. The CIA mole is dastardly and completely without a conscience--and creepily well-prepared with backup plans for their backup plans. There's misdirection and attempts to frame the good guys, and...yeah, it was total catnip in so many ways. The big takedown at the end was all I could have hoped for, and our heroine her...more

After reading this story, I contacted Ms Evans and asked her what her connections to the CIA were. Her story was to realistic. I loved her heroine and felt her pain loving two men.

I'm now a Misty Evans fan.

I'm not usually a spy novel sort of girl, but it was a free Kindle download; and I truly enjoyed it. It's well-paced with enough surprises to keep you entertained.

I've read other books by this author and was excited to read this one.
Misty's writing is intense and full of edge on your seat action. It's very hard to put the book down until you've read it all. The characters walk off the page and pull you along on a life and death CIA adventure, with enough twist and turns to keep you guessing. But it doesn't stop there. Our heroine must work with a past love that she thought was dead, and a friend who became a lover. Sexual tension flies as choices must be...more

4.4 Star Review – Operation Sheba (Super Agents, Book 1)

I recommend this book.

This book is jam packed full of suspense and a real page turner.

Julia and Conrad were in love already in the beginning but after he died she was sucked into another life.

Conrad is in fact alive and needs Julia's help.

Can she trust and love him again after he faked his own death?

Or will he just get her killed in the end.

I felt it was more suspense than romance but still a great read.

Strong characters throughou...more

This book blew me away resulting in a book hangover a few mornings. I highly recommend reading this one. It has everything from suspense, murder, love, second chances, intrigue, betrayal, and spice. I feel for Julia thinking the love of her life is dead and then he's thrown back into her life when she's finally moving forward. The chase is on to find the CIA traitor before it costs Julia her life. Julia is a strong character she's perfect heroine material. For Flynn he has some making up to do,...more

This was my first book by Misty Evans and I loved it. I tend to enjoy books like this in general - men in power that sometimes have to straddle the line of what is legal/lawful for the sake of whomever or whatever they are saving. I also love a strong heroine that can hold her own and Julia is that! This book had a love triangle in it, but not in a typical sense. You saw the love triangle from the beginning so there was no build up there, but I liked it. I enjoyed the characters and they all see...more

This book really surprised me. I got it as a free download for my Kindle because I like thrillers with a little romance thrown in the mix. This book certainly fit the bill.

Julia/Abigail is a complex woman who has overcome a horrific childhood to become the CIA's top counter-terrorist analyst. Trained by the best she has had to overcome the death of her partner and lover Conrad. Now she's finally beginning to belive in happy endings and her world is turned upside down again. Is her new lover the...more

“Bad guys, bombs, and bullets pop up everywhere...The CIA’s internal politics are fleshed out beautifully... With non-stop action and a fantastic heroine, Operation Sheba is a great kickoff for a debut writer.”

Don't miss this fabulous CIA thriller by Misty Evans! It's an exciting page turner of an adventure with a plot that had me reading furiously until the very end. Ms. Evan's characters were absolutely fantastic, much more than that---they were real. Conrad Flynn is a hunky hero that you'll be in love before you've finished the first chapter. And his heroine, Julia Torrison is the very lady you'd consider yourself lucky to have for a best friend.

Like I said, don't miss this fabulous adventure by M...more

Free book on Kindle this week and I loved it!

Never heard of this author before, but now I plan to read her other books. The plot was intense and fast paced, and I found myself not wanting to put the book down. CIA, counterterrorism, romance = awesome! Julia and Conrad are a great partnership, and I'm looking forward to the other books in the series, to find out what happens with some of the other characters.

I got about a quarter of the way in, and it seemed like a pretty good spy novel but a poor romance. Then, I realized about 50 pages later that there was absolutely no mystery in the book at all. No tension. You knew who the bad guys were, you knew it had to turn out okay, and nothing was compelling at all.

Looking for a fantastic romantic suspense....Operation Sheba has it all.

Political intrigue, sexy CIA agents, inner CIA deceptions, lover's betrayal, and a love triangle. Add kick butt & smart mouth characters, sensual romance, and high octane suspense.

I highly recommend this book!

Loved, loved this book. I am a secret ops/agent addict and I must say that Julia and Conrad were the perfect undercover agents. Actually, they are quite amazing under the covers! I liked how Julia more than held her own and did not need the big strong man to save her.

I read this book earlier this year and loved it! Her fabulous characters (I adored Con!), humor, and fast-paced romantic suspense plot left me anxious to seek out other novels by Misty Evans. Really looking forward to her Witches Anonymous series next!!

This was offered as a free download from Amazon and I have to say that I really liked it! While Misty Evans doesn't have many books published, I'd like to read a couple of her other books! Kept my interest throughout the book and read it in a day!

I am often guilty of judging a book by it's cover, regardless of the warning not to do so. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast I devoured this book. It was a delightful mixed of humor, mystery and suspense.
Judy
A real feminine hero -- helping to find the "mole" in the CIA -- she's braver than I ever could have been -- and to have two men in love with her -- wow! I found the book to be good and the plot believable.

“What do you mean, is that it? I just saved his career and the CIA from ruin and he calls me a perfidious ass."
"What's perfidious mean?" Ace asked from the driver's seat.
"You deceived him and stole his girlfriend out from under his nose," Julia said to Conrad. "I think technically 'ass' is a pretty mild revilement."
"Revilement?" Ace looked at one and then the other in his rearview. "This is some kind of spy talk, isn't it? Okay, I'm down with it. Just tell me what it means.”
