{The Howling Ghost} – Watch, Adam and Sally are introduced to a new character in this book. Her name is Cindy and she claims that her brother was taken by a ghost. It’s not too far fetched for the three to decide to help her because they believe that is what in deed had happened given the weird things that seem to happen in Spooksville. Like Adam, Cindy and her family had recently moved in to live in the house her father had inherited. That sad thing is she lost her father because he died and no ...more

The TV episode that is based on this book follows it almost to the letter. So there really wasn't anything in here that I hadn't already experienced. Not sure I like book-Sally all that much, she's vicious to Cindy in this book. It's pretty off-putting. Cindy is another girl who might be competition for a boy (Adam) that she's known for all of two weeks!!! Full on Bitch-Mode people!

On the show Sally makes a lot of remarks about Adam being her future Prom date, but the kids are a few years older

#2 Spooksville.

I was reading The Serpent's shadow just now, and I read the word "jetty" and suddenly, I remembered this book. I remembered how scared I was when I read this as a kid and how I loved it and how i reread it lots of times. :D

Re-reading this series as an adult... well not a very mature adult, but still... older than the recommended age. I love this series when I was younger and, having seen some of the Hub's television version, felt the need to reread these books.

The Howling Ghost is one of my all time favourite Spooksville stories. The introduction of Cindy to balance out Sally's character is excellent (I find Sally overbearing at times!). The boy's meeting Cindy was pretty cute ("Or a rose that's been crushed" Adam

This month I read a book called The Howling Ghost by Christopher Pike. This book is a Mystery book that takes place in a town called Spooks Ville where Sally, Cindy, Adam, and Watch take on hideous monsters and go on huge journeys. In this book Sally, Cindy, Adam, and Watch run into a old lighthouse that has been spooking the town for generations. All four of them venture into the light house to find out what is so weird about it. I rated this book 4/5 stars cause it has tons of excitement and a ...more

I liked the story. It actually kept me guessing who the ghost was and that was something I didn't expect. Unfortunately, Sally becomes less quirky and more of a jealous stereotype in this book. She also became slightly annoying with all of the shark warnings.

Fresh off from escaping from evil-alternate Spooksville, the trio decide that instead of relaxing, they would turn into investigators and rescue a missing kid who may or may not have been kidnapped by some of Spooksville's more supernatural elements.

Why? Sally thinks its because Adam and Watch find the sister cute. She doesn't.

There is a lighthouse, and an interesting familial connection involved too.

Ahhh its been 15 or so odd years since I read these books. But I am surprised at how much I stil
