Started this in order to recommend for a mother-daughter book club of 2nd grade girls, and was beginning to think it would be a good short series for them, but came across a startling mix-up of names that an editor should have noticed. Checked to see what the other 3 books an the quartet were, and learned they would be sort of difficult to get hold of. So, unfortunately, I don't recommend this brother-sister fantasy book. Evidently not too many other readers did, either.
As a pagan parent, I was excited to see this series for grades 3-5 introducing children to the concept of the four elements. In this first book, three siblings discover a wish-granting bottle in the ocean. The story focuses on their relationship to each other and their developing sense of magical ethics as they make, and recover from, the wishes they've chosen.
