So, I've been slowly making my way through Forbidden Fruit: The Ethics of Secularism by Paul Kurtz. Kurtz raises some interesting points about ethical systems not based on religion (or, more to the point, how ethical systems based on religion are actually based on the ways humans interact ethically anyway), but this book is failing me in a couple of ways:
