Jaded is a young adult book told in two different POVs--Jade, a girl who is struggling to deal with her divorced parents and life in general, and her boyfriend, Terrence, a guy whose druggie mother is away so much that he is forced to work to support his younger brother and sister. Ashamed of not being able to be a normal teenage boy, Terrence keeps his family life hidden from Jade.

I thought that this book was amazing and that everyone should read it. Terrence a teenage boy, is having to become a man a little to young. His mother "Arlene" is on drugs and he has to look over his 2 younger siblings and be the man of the house while his mom is out partying, gone for weeks. "Jaded" By Monica McKayhan was an okay book to me. I think the switching of the characters was a bit confusing, I know a lot of people that agreed with that too. This book did not really hold my attention, but I did read the whole book. Could have been better :/ .

The book was really good!! The story gives an idealistic view on how real life can effect the youngest of teenagers in the most unfortunate situations. In the book, Jade and Terrence understood that concept.
