Being Nikki offered up some fun and shocking twists and turns while still containing Cabot's wonderful humor. The novel is a quick read, mainly due to Cabot's flowing prose; her style is very much like a best friend telling you their story and it provides for compelling reading. The pages fly by fast, and the reader is left with a cliffhanger that made me glad I had Runaway already in my TBR pile.

Because of this book, I need to find out what happens in the next. As a book, it's alright--but as the second book in a series, it's really awesome :)
I recommend this book for all of Meg Cabot's usual readers but sadly, I don't recommend it to those who have yet to read any other of Meg's books. Having read "Airhead" the first book in the series I couldn't stop myself from wanting to know what happens next and decided to read "Being Nikki". Surprisingly it was more enjoyable than the previous one, as it did not suffer from the occasional trip down the memory lane which was in abundance in "Airhead". I must say I am slightly disappointed.The writing is of course still the same and I think the actual story is still not too bad (especially Lulu, I found this part great and funny!), But several positive aspects of the story turned into negative ones.

Being Nikki, the sequel to Airhead was definetely an interesting book. It took me out of my normal drama-love-story zone. I liked it because of all the drama and emotions throughout the book. I really loved how Meg Cabot, the author, described every detail that happened. Especially how the author thoroughly described the relationships and Nikki's personal view of the relationship. I really enjoyed reading this sequel to Airhead. It was fun to continue Emerson's story. While reading I kept thinking, "Why can't this happen to me?" Emerson's/Nikki's new life is so great, well sort of. I don't think I could do the whole model thing but I could definitely do the tons of money/nice body/choice of boys thing.

For me, Meg Cabot's books are like comfort food. Whenever I'm feeling stressed or unhappy, picking up one of her novels is a no-fail way to perk me up. As with most of her novels, Meg Cabot did not disappoint me in Being Nikki.
Cabot's writing style flawlessly reflects the mind of the average teen. Her adolescent characters aren't as deep as some, but they aren't incredibly shallow either. Some may scoff and roll their eyes at Em's problems, but as a teenager, I can relate to many of...more

I enjoyed this almost as much as 'Airhead' and definitely think that Meg Cabot's writing is getting better, and more original, with time. Of course, there were a few things that I didn't love about this book - such as Em constantly kissing guys as well as talking about it and thinking about it, which I didn't really think added to the story - but for the majority of the book I was gripped and didn't want to put it down! Once again, Meg Cabot keeps readers right on their toes giving her usual witty banter with a glamourous, upscale New York twist. Although I am a huge fan of all Cabot books, I must say that she has outdone herself this time. Even though all of Cabot’s books have different styles, differing from suspense, comedy, to mystery, I must say I like her writing style best in the Airhead Series.

Meg Cabot is a genius. However, the concept at the core of this novel series, involves the reader taking a huge leap of faith in order to invest in the protagonist, Em. I have to admit that the whole brain swapping scenario makes it difficult for me to love this series as much as some of Cabot's other work. That being said, Being Nikki was a huge improvement on Airhead.

Loved it. But the ending was waay to big of a cliff hanger! I don't want to wait for Runaway! But I'll have to... and then I may or may not be as pumped for it as I am.
