I saw these series of books in my library a few weeks ago and thought, "Now that's a cool idea!" It never seems to fail (for me and my little one anyway) that one of us is getting bored reading the story! Especially with beginner books! Not that the stories aren't good, there's just not a lot to them! The books in the "We Both Read" series are designed that you and your little one can read the same book, taking turns! This is part of the "We Both Read" series, which is awesome. On the left side there is difficult text for the adult to read, and on the right side there is easy text for the child to read.
However, this book was little too zany for my taste. A bun made out of gum??? I preferred the more subtle imagination of the the other two "We Both Read" books we own--TOO MANY CATS and THE OLD BLUE HAT.
