Before this book I really had no idea why this series might have been relegated to obscurity. The revelations about Dancer alone probably explain much of it though. Although I thought it was really interesting to explore a hermaphroditic character and his/her relationship with the man (s)he loves, I also recognize that it might be a squick for some. If that topic does not bother you though, the discussions of gender identity and sexuality alone are very interesting.

Really enjoyed this whole series! Fascinating characters, all quite different, and a wonderful world spun into a wonderful journey of self-exploration and mystery, all held together by leylines.

This was the best book so far. You know the characters, the world and what they are facing. There twist and turns and many surprises. Hope the next book RING OF CHANGE is out soon.

On October 24, 1988 in Oklahoma City, OK, at a suggestion from SF author C.J. Cherryh, I began writing. I kept writing because two hours after starting, I had to find out what happened. A little over a year later, I was the startled owner of a three book contract based on the rough draft of my first novel.

I've been writing ever since.

What appeals to me about writing in general is the constant chal
