This was a short, quick read book. Louisa May Alcott's books always have tons of meaning within her pages. This was our December book for book group. I feel sort of bad only giving it two stars, but the last story didn't do anything for me. There were three short stories, and I'm having a hard time remembering the details. The last story was about a talking horse. I hope the discussion tomorrow night will remind me of the stuff I liked. The first two stories were good, but . . . like I said, can't remember the details.

All three stories in this collection are very sweet. They teach some of life's most important lessons in a very simple upfront manner. They're also the perfect length if you're just beginning to read non picture books to younger children.

I was debating about whether I should give this book a two or three star. I don't remember all the details but the stories are really short in this book, and I really like only one of them.
