Wow. Breathtaking. I finished this in five days. The 8th book in the Left Behind series. In this book, Nicolae Carpathia has risen from the dead after three days. However, he is now possessed by Satan himself. Now it is time for those still on Earth to receive the mark of the beast, either on the forehead or right hand. Without this loyalty mark, you cannot buy or sell anything. You live underground. This mark determines where you will go in the afterlife. You cannot change your mind. If you cho...more

Blogger and journalist Fred Clark has repeatedly attacked the book as being "Bad Writing and Bad Theology"[1] in a long running series of weekly posts[2]. He feels that after the Rapture the people of the world, including the heroes of the story, assimilate the disappearance of all the world's children with a monstrous rapidity that displays the ways that the authors have allowed their checklist of prophecies to be fulfilled to outweigh the consequences these events would have on the p...more

The Left Behind series is worth reading because it prods you to read what the Bible has to say. The writing may not be "high brow" but it's highly readable for all audiences, which I think the writers wanted to accomplish.
There are definitely thought-provoking sections and the books stay with you. I would recommend it. I certainly
cannot stop reading the series.

The Left Behind series is an interesting FICTIONAL depiction of what things may be like during the 'end times' foretold of in the biblical book of Revelations. The writing is very good and the characters are well developed. The critical part in this mass media juggernaut that has become a world-wide sensation is to remember that it is FICTION.

I enjoyed this book a bit more than some of the others in the series. I found myself starting to like several of the characters including Tsion Ben-Judah, Chaim Rozenzweig, Leah and Zeke. I continued to find the story line fascinating as the prophecies of Scripture unfold.

This entire series was great! It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and made me excited for the next book to come out. It wasn't a "preachy" book but at the same time did witness. My review will be the same for all the books in the series. Well worth reading!!

The series has a good plot/storyline, however the writing isn't that great. And it can have overbearing Christian tones to it at times. Overall, the series is okay - nothing great not the worst.

I found this book to be the most disturbing in the series. It really made me wonder what I would do if my faith were to be tested in such a horrific way.

Horrible, horrible stuff. I despise this series- I don't think the Lord's work should be fictionalized. Maybe it scares me. Not a happy read!

Good series to make you think. Some theology not exactly how I see things but overall a good message and very engaging writing.
