Very clear and concise information regarding oil refining. Takes away a lot of the chemistry details.

This book gave an excellent overview of petroleum refining without getting bogged down in minutiae or droning on in the style of dry reference tomes. The author reminds us once in a while that he is human with a witty blurb here and there.

I read this book to get a grasp on terms like "cat cracker", "fractionation" and "isobutane" and I was completely satisfied with what I came away with. I now have a good enough grasp on what goes on in the refining world that I can stop with the bewildered loo...more
