Shelves: non-fic, animals, art
In terms of technology, this book is old (2004) so many people are already well familiar with the concepts of pixels, memory, and so forth. In terms of using a camera (shutter speed, composition, etc.), this is still a great book. I particularly appreciated how the author provides lots of background information on the many photographs in the book. I have more than a passing interest in photography and have developed some technical skill, but I'd still say I'm at the intermediate level.

This was a good book for me because it reinforced some of the things I'm doing right, gave me some accessible ideas for how I can improve and was written in a very down-to-earth way (I find a lot of photography books really self-centred).

As someone who has just recently become interested in photography,and in particular digital photography, this was a great book for me. The early chapters deal with the basics, from what sort of equipment you may or may not want and need to use to basic photography terms and techniques. Every chapter is succint and includes several photo examples of the subject the author is explaining.
