It was a point of honor with the Earl of Argyle never to take advantage of the "lower orders." The Earl was a rake--but a discriminating one, who only succumbed to the charms of his own kind. But there was something about his new maid Megan that made the Earl yearn to break his own rule. With her blue eyes smiling up at him, even the most honorable gentleman mi

I love the readers at Smart Bitches, Trashy Books! They helped me find this old romance on HABO Day. I'm in awe people knew it!

I'm giving this 4 stars mainly because I read this back when I was 13 or 14 and it has stuck with me. (I mean seriously I read this in like 1994)

If I were to re-read it, I may not be so generous with my rating, but I sure was a sucker for a maid and an earl.

OMG, so much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed it and was rather annoyed at life for interrupting the story of Justin and Meggy. Great fluffy fun with lots of laughs, a lovely romance and fun supporting characters. Cindy Holbrook is fast becoming a fave after just two books, must dig up more of her stuff.

The book blurb pretty much says it all as far as the story goes. "For six months Lady Margaret "Megan" Linton had to serve as a maid in a noble household, or forfeit her grandfather's fortune. It was a shocking condition, but the resourceful Megan was determined to fulfill her grandfather's last wish."

That seemed easy enough, since the house she was placed in by a family retainer was one out in the countray that the Earl never, ever occupied, but lo and behold the Earl and his family land unexpe

I really enjoyed this one; I love it when I find a new author. This is only the second book I’ve read of hers, but I think I’m already a fan. When her grandfather dies Megan learns that in order to inherit her fortune she must work as a maid for six months, per her grandfather’s will. She chooses an estate that is out of the way and supposedly rarely visited. However, her plans go awry when the Earl decides to come for a visit, bringing with him his crazy family and a house full of peers. I like ...more

Get ready...... Lady Megan Linton, a Viscountess, has to become a maid for six months in order to earn her eccentric grandfather's estate. Raised by this unusual man after her parents died, she has been educated in numerous activities that the average woman of this time has not been. It shows.

Get set...... She is settled on Justin's home and lands because he is suppose to be safe and honorable. The gist of the story is Megan aka Meggie and The Earl of Argyle butting heads. There are a few unlike

Light & fluffy. All a bit too silly for me - I like my Regencies with at least a spark of probability.

Before becoming a romance novelist, Cindy received a BFA in theater and pursued a career in real estate. She was both a broker and a general contractor and actually began writing to entertain herself while she sat open house as a realtor.

Although born in Wisconsin, Cindy moved to Florida with her family at a young age and has never left. Her home in Fort Walton, on the Emerald coast, provides Cind
