Excellent overview of privies, waterclosets, plumbing, and the development of waster management systems. I recommend it to anyone interested in the history of cities and housing.

The author is on task for this slim book. It's mostly pictures but the text is more interesting to me, as it explains the evolution from privy pit to the modern facility and the reasons for each change. Eveleigh does a good job of keeping a fairly gross subject interesting without nauseating the reader.
