Pup and Hound find a lost egg. Since they cannot locate the mother, they hatch it themselves and find a surprise. Reads like a picture book with rhyming text which helps the reader figure out the words.

Ah, there's nothing like Spring - with babies being born and the world becoming green again. Pup wants to play with the babies, but everyone says that they are too little. But when he finds an orphaned egg, he ends up with a baby of his very own. It's a cute story with fun illustrations and a simple narrative that will encourage young readers.
This series is adorable. I really liked this particular book because the egg they find turns out to be a turtle.
