A while ago, someone gave me the Super S series of Sailor Moon. At the time, all I'd seen was the anime adaption - so it was fun reading the originals (even if it was a little weird getting used to "Serena" being named "Bunny" - and even more so now that they've started calling her Usagi again. XD).

Decided to pull them off the shelves and read them again. It's a little weird getting used to the comics being flipped to be read left to right (you read enough manga, and you get used to reading them

Two things I like about this book - the Outer Solar System Scouts are sidelined, allowing Takeuchi to focus on a smaller cast, and she's giving each of the classic Scouts a spotlight chapter. The last few big epics were fun, but the series couldn't stand to add another layer of Scouts and continue to offer no development of the existing ones. So this is a good move - Takeuchi adds depth to Mercury, Mars and Rini (a major character throughout each chapter). While the plot (villain sends henchmen ...more

WTF is going on? Is that Unicorn trying to bang that little girl? This is absurdly awesome.

One of my all-time favorite series. The gateway series to getting me into anime and manga! The artwork impressed me so much, and the story was fun. It is still one of my favorites both because it's well-done, and for nostagia reasons.

This is the version that came out during the middle age of manga: before they stopped flipping the artwork, but right as TokyoPop was starting to emerge, and the volumes got cheaper. Unfortunately you could see it in the quality, as there were a lot of typos and som

I truly enjoyed this volume, mostly because it revolves around one of my favorite characters, Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Kamen (Mask). (Darien Shields in this case...ugh) It was nice and refreshing to see the difference in the manga verses the anime when it came to his character. It also shows that he has some depth as a character and is more than just moral support for Sailor Moon. All in all a great read and one of the better story arcs in my opinion

I know that this manga is far from the best... the story can be cliche in places, and the art is horrible in spots...

But it has a special place in my heart - it was one of my very first introductions to anime and manga, and there's something empowering about Sailor Moon and the sailor scouts. I don't think it matters how old I get... I'll always find my way back to this manga.

So Sailormoon SuperS brings me another exciting story arc! I liked this arc, even if it was getting rather repetitive (more crystals, and Minimoon comes back) but overall it's a pretty good arc. It's also fun to note the differences between manga and anime.

By far one of my favorite series from my childhood. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. Sadly now it is really hard to find but if you manage to track down the volumes more power to you.
