Very quick read with 125 insights, majority of them are common knowledge indeed.

Conviction is based on what you know will happen, faith is based on what you hope will happen.

The chains of habit are too light to be felt until they're too heavy to be broken - Bertrand Russel

Proper investment approach is not intuitive - it is rational with the right temperament.

Some people can make decisions and some people can't. The ones who can will lead, and the More...

While I plow through Buffett's 1,000 page biography, I wanted another small complete quality dose of the man for some enrichment. This book completely delivered. It's practically a modern Ethics of the Fathers and would be insightful enough without the compilers' explanatory comments. Having those added is just another bonus to the overall quality of the book. We'll see if I can apply some of the lessons. Until then, I find Warren Buffett utterly fascinating.

The subtitle pretty much says what needs to be said to understand what this book is about. My impression - from my perspective as a non-professional investor who is all-too-prone to a trading mentality - is that the type of long term, fundamental investing espoused in this book is much healthier for our country than overemphasis on short-term performance, technical analysis, etc.

Warren Buffett's investment philosophy is very valuable but this book is repetitive and superficial. I haven't searched but I believe most of the quotes of these book are available on the internet for anyone who cares to search... and the comments below are not extremely insightful. Maybe more concrete examples (there are a few but rather repetitive) would have added more value.

Mary Buffett, has done a great job, this is a good little read and will help you to understand how Warren Buffett thinks about investing. But most it's important to understand how Warren Buffett thinks about habits, that's why I wrote the "13 Habits that made me Billions" series of books, to empower kids to make the world a better place.

Thanks for the wonderfully simple tips and wisdoms to cherish and follow. I am sure to apply some of those daily in my business and personal lives. One of my favorite quotes went like this: Number 117. "No matter how great the talent of effort, some things just take time: You can't produce a baby in one month by getting nine women pregnant"

"what is important is that they are good people, not whether they are rich or poor" (pg 159). Great book, a book about both life and business.

A quick read. A fair amount of redundancy. For someone that doesn't pay a lot of attention to the world of investments, it was a good read. It made me think more about my retirement plans and how the sooner I make a solid effort, rather than the passive effort I'm making now, the better off I'll (we'll) be. I recommend!

Very simply stated views on investing and life. As obvious as they may be they still needed to be stated... since most investment books build the savings accounts of brokers not of investers!

Nice quick read, nice quick refresher course. The thing that spoils it is that it's really someone else's interpretations. Still, fun to read the Buffet quotes. :-)
