While I enjoyed this book I didn't find it as interesting as the first one. It had some amazing parts where I found myself sighing like a 15-year old and then some others where I thought: ARE YOU SERIOUS?

IMHO the problem with this installment was that it lacked everything I loved about book one. I adored the Dragon warriors, for me they are the most interesting species because I have never read about them before, while I got a bit bored of gods, vampires and demons. I was exhilarated about readi...more

(Atlantis,#2) I love Grayson James! Gray is an OBI agent sent to Atlantis to obtain the Jewel of Dunamis. I enjoyed learning more about the different creatures of Atlantis. This book has nonstop action, adventure, and romance from beginning to end.

it was really a beautiful book, funny, creative... while ı was reading it, i really enjoyed.it wasnt a waste of time. nymphs vamps demon etc. it has really colorful characters.

I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could. Although it took me a while to finish this book because of outside factors, I thought it was pretty awesome. My one complaint is I think the ending was a bit rushed. This might be the hottest book that I have read by GS so far. The love scenes were pretty steamy. One thing I liked is that Gray has a very large POV in this story. It's really cool to see a romance from the guy's perspective. And I feel that his viewpoint read pretty authentic for a guy. He did a...more

This book is easily one of my favorites. I think the story is very unique. I'm an aspiring writer, and one of my strongest desires is to be able to come up with an idea as astounding as the thought process Showalter put together for Jewel of Atlantis.
A brief summary: Grayson James is sent to Atlantis to find and bring back the Jewel of Atlantis, which is said to hold many extraordinary powers. Gray isn't even sure Atlantis exists until he finds himself on the other side of the portal he entered...more

I read this book because I was curious about the series and liked the first one enough that I wanted to read more of the series.

Grayson (or Gray) was the hero of this story and while he's supposed to be human he always seems like a little bit more which kind of bothered me. It isn't that I disliked him but I felt it would have just been easier if he were part something from Atlantis. But I'm not the author. I'm also not into the more demanding and gruff males. I don't mind it in general but he s...more

The second book in the Atlantis series. Atlantis is a world hidden below the ocean by the gods to contain all of their creations before the humans. The only way in is to discover one of two secret portals...guarded by men that can change into dragons and are ordered to kill all who try to come in.

Grayson James has managed to sneak through these fearsome guardians (not sure how) in search of the mythical Jewel of Dunamis. A jewel that has the power to tell the future, read minds, and separate lie...more

********** Mild Spoilers**********

Gray is a human OBI (kind of a men in black agency) agent who travels into Atlantis to find the Jewel of Dunamis. He starts hearing a voice in his mind trying to prevent him from trouble, leading him through the Atlantis terrain and asking him to help her escape her captivity. After rescuing Jewel from her captors it tells of their journey to find Jewel safety, their unnatural connection and getting Gray to the Jewel of Dunamis. How will they cope with their blo...more

"Only one unspoken rule existed. The two vastly different creations, humans and Atlanteans, were never to meet, never to interact, never to fall in love.
Someone should have told Grayson James."

Grayson James works on missions for OBI (Otherworld Bureau of Investigations), operations nearly impossible, that have taken him even to other planets and most of the times almost killed him. A new mission takes him to the forbidden land of Atlantis, where there are vampires, demons and many other magical...more

This strong sequel to Heart of a Dragon jumped right into the action where we encounter the hero, Gray James, barreling his way through the Atlantean jungle with demons and vampires hot on his tail. He is there on a mission for the organization he works for that is a top secret group that deals with Otherworldly issues. He has been sent to retrieve the powerful Dunamis jewel that can be a threat when the wrong person owns it. If he can't retrieve it then he is to destroy it. Gray suddenly starts...more

Personalmente, come coppia, mi son piaciuti molto. Lui: brillante, ironico e sexy. Lei: fragile, testarda e sbarazzina.

Punti deboli? Lei vuole fare sesso con Gray. Perchè? perchè lo ama. Stop.

I liked this book better than Heart of the Dragon (book 1). I think this is because book 1 of a series always has to set the stage (so to speak) and gets bogged down in extraneous details.

The mystery of Atlantis has always fascinated me and even though this series puts a different spin on the legend, I still loved it and read it in only 3 hours.

In this second installment of the Atlantis series, we are introduced to two new characters, Gray and Jewel and are taken across the lands of Atlantis, meeting new and familiar creatures as they try to rush to safety. While I didn't love this as much as Heart of the Dragon, I still had a hard time putting it down once I got about 50 pages in. For some reason though it took me about 3 times to get into those first 50 pages. I just wasn't too sure where things were heading. Luckily once we're prope...more

Gray James is sent to Atlantis through a portal to find the Jewel of Dunamis. His employer, the Otherworld Bureau of Investigations, discovered a book detailing the many dangers native to Atlantis. Unfortunately for Gray none of them took the book too seriously. After being hunted by vampires and demons, Gray knows that all the information was correct. When he's in a tight situation someone suddenly speaks to him in his mind and helps him make it out alive. Gray isn't sure whether he can trust t...more

Jewel of Atlantis is the first book that I have read in Showalter's Atlantis series, and I really enjoyed it. This book proved to be very hard to put down. I started it thinking I would just read for a bit, and I just couldn't stop. This book combines humor, action, adventure, and romance, and I loved Showalter taking the jewel that everyone wants to get their hands on and making it a woman. Naturally the hero is sent to find the jewel and either bring it back or destroy it thus putting the hero...more

I didn't like it as much as I loved the first one, but it was still a pretty great read, heaps of action and steamy scenes. I didn't much care for the lead female character Jewel, but the male lead had some spunk to him.

Wow...loved this one! Even more than the last. I totally fell in love with both of these characters and wish the story hadn't come to an end. The story is fast paced and exciting and I loved the passion between these two.

Gray is a human OBI agent searching for the Jewel of Dunamis. The jewel has immense powers and in the wrong hands it's a very powerful weapon. When he finds it, Gray intends to either hand it over to his employers or destroy it.

after reading this book i had to go subtract a star from the first in the series because i now hold the author to a higher standard. this book had all the great parts of the last one but without any of the bad ones. the female lead is.a little wimpy for my tastes but shes very sweet amd lovable. the male lead is just protective enouh to be endearing without being borderline sociopathic. still a great plotline though my biggest problem was that the big twost had so many hints it was too easy to f...more

Jewel of Atlantis is a good addition to the Atlantis series.

Gray is hot, hot, HOT (!) and Jewel is a strong heroine, even if she doesn't realize it. The action was just about non-stop (unfortunately for our main characters who probably could have used a break) and it was great to have glimpses of other Atlantis characters from previous books. Darius? Layel? Yum.

And while I really liked the beginning and how the story unfolded, I found the ending a bit rushed and anti-climatic.

I'm not sure that...more

wah, seri atlantis berarti jauh lebih bagus dari seri Gena Showalter yang sng kekerasan dkk. dari heart of the dragon sampe jewel of atlantis, itu bagus. keren juga gimana seorang manusia kaya Grayson James bisa survive di Atlantis ngelawan iblis-iblis lain. apalagi dia juga harus ngelindungin Jewel yang ternyata adalah permata dunamis yg selama ini dia cari untuk dihancurkan. deg-degan banget pas bagian dimana Gray mulai nebak siapa itu Jewel, sayang nya pas Gray tau, gada konfliknya sama sekal...more

I loved this, couldn't put it down. I didn't even want to go to work cos I wanted to finish it; I took the book with me everywhere, and read it at any opportunity (ain't I sad)! I especially liked that instead of the guy chasing the girl, which is most often the case in these romance novels, that this is more the girl chasing the guy - makes for something a bit different!

All the sexual inuendoes and the 'straight forward talk' makes it great to read, and there are so many funny comments, it had...more

To the point, saya sebelumnya gak pernah baca novel yang sevulgar ini -.-’..

4.5

I’m so annoyed I have to give this 4.5 stars and not 5! The very last scene is just not worthy of 5 no matter how much the rest of the book is worth. The final scene is the pinnacle and this one, although a perfect ending, was not well presented. Arg!

This was quite a cute story aside from the horrible life of the heroine prior to the hero’s entrance. Jewel/Pru/Blaze and other hilarious names is the very much coveted Jewel of Dunamis, one of the most powerful entities in Atlantis. Grayson Jame...more

SPOILERS AHEAD

I started liking Grayson and Jewel but towards the middle I just kept sighing and rolling my eyes. Did they really had to bring up Grayson's millions of lovers and the fact that he liked sex? Geesh, it was like you read about their survival and suddenly the author randomly mentions his past sex life. Ugh. I didn't really understand the ending. Jewel defeats the bad guy and he just leaves her. . . Just like that? No tears or heart wrenching moments or even a believable internal figh...more
