Whenever Matt and Vic make love, Vic acquires superhuman abilities that eventually wear off and get replaced by others. The only permanent ability Vic and Matt share is telepathy. In this short story, Vic gets to use his strength and extra speed to prevent three young punks on motorcycles from tormenting their landlady, Mrs. K.

This was the very first JM Snyder book that I read. The only reason why I bought it was for the yummy abs of the guy on the cover. No, seriously, that was why. I had no idea what to expect. What I got was an extremely funny and clever story introducing me to the wonderful world of Vic and Matt - a couple that JMS has written many stories about. This is the kind of book that is "laughout loud" funny. Since I believe that it is still a free read on the JMS website, you can't lose.
Not as much content as some of the others, the story line was kind of broken up in 3 stages and didn’t have the best transition between sex in the laundry room, grocery shopping and the action of the parking lot bullies. I like Matt and Vic, I am not sure how the psychic powers work. It may interest me enough to find ‘The Bonds of Love’, it is apparently the novel that follows this mini-story.
Sex. Action. Attitude. Affection. These are delivered in a setting complete with a little back story, values, mutual appreciation shared by characters and the daily routines of normal life.

June 07, 2010: This short story takes place before ‘The Bonds of Love’. A hot and steamy short story that has me curious for more. Imagine it. Having sex with the one you love can give you superpowers. And, you can read one another’s thoughts. How cool is that!? I definitely want to check out this series.

I read this while bored at work. It's a pretty short novella, and since I'm not familiar with the author and her/his work, I assumed that the characters are from an ongoing series.
It's a short snapshot out of the life of Vic and Matt. There is one sex scene, a trip to the grocery store, and an attack by bikers where Vic showed his powers by taking them down. Yes, there is a paranormal slant in the storyline.

Wow. The story might be short, but there is some ass whipping and some other adult stuff. If you want something short to read and don't mind interaction between two men who love each other, give it a try.

A great read! I would have loved to sit down and read a whole full-length book devoted to these two! Some funny parts as well as steamy parts. The telepanthy thing was pretty great in this. A fantastic little quick read. I wanted to read more!
cute snippet of a day in vic and matt's life -- as vic saves their landlady in the parking lot of a grocery store. i enjoy having the landlady appear here. it'll be nice to revisit her in a longer novella.

I was very confused not knowing that this was a short as part of a larger series. After researching the other series and learning more about these characters it makes more sense.
