Tess ya işte her zaman okunur. Her ne kadar kitabın editinde bazı küçük sorunlar gözüme çarpmış olsa dahi konu iyi. Kimse gerilim beklemesin, macera çünkü. Konu özeti kendini anlatıyor. Kitap akıcı kendini okutuyor. Ben sevdim. Tavsiyemdir:)

This is one of Gerritsen's older books- i.e. Pre-Rizzoli and Isles. And there really isn't anything terribly wrong with that. The characters are not terribly fleshed out. But the plot moves quickly in somewhat unexpected ways that still feel somewhat realistic.

However, I have one major bone to pick with Ms. Gerritsen. Our plucky heroine, Miranda, is falsely accused of killing the man she used to be having an affair with. I cannot tell you how many times Miranda herself and other characters refer...more

Presumed Guilty is the 7th novel by best-selling American author, Tess Gerritsen. When Miranda Wood’s boss and ex-lover, newspaper publisher Richard Tremain, is murdered in her bed with her own kitchen knife, she has no alibi and is, of course, presumed guilty. But when Richard’s brother returns to Shepherd’s Island at his sister-in-law Evelyn’s request, Chase Tremain observes in Miranda a woman who doesn’t seem guilty. There are inconsistencies in the case; and, once he talks more to Miranda, h...more

Presumed Guilty isn't a new book; in fact, it was written about 15 years ago, reprinted and re-released in May 2012 for sale at Amazon.com. Most of the reader reviews there were positively awful, though it should be noted that some were simply ticked off that they'd paid good money for a reprint of an old book. Still, after seeing those reviews, I almost didn't start reading it even though Gerritsen is one of my favorite authors.

Now that I've read it, I agree it's far from her best. In a nutshel...more

Ama Tess yaptı yine yapa...more

This was possibly one of the worst books I have ever read. Ok, maybe not the worst, but the worst one that I have actually finished. Normally I give up. Life is too short:) But this was a short one and an easy read, and I had to know "who done it."

The weird thing is I read 3 or so other books by this author and enjoyed them. I think this was one of her first books. It is basically a really mediocre murder mystery combined with a romance novel.

Case in point - "She tasted of summer and warmth and...more

Miranda Wood was finally content, after a terrible couple of weeks, where she quit her job and broke up with her married lover. She had decided to leave the island, start afresh with a new job and new home. Until the night Richard telephoned her, wanting to see her, not believing she would actually leave him. He was coming to her home, and she didn’t want to see him. So she went for a long walk, sat by the water for an hour or so then slowly made her way home. When she saw Richard’s car was stil...more

Miranda is accused of killing her lover and starts investigating his death with his black sheep brother. Typically, I would give a terribly written but still readable book two stars, but boy oh boy did I hate Miranda. And Chase. And everyone. I've read a few Gerritsen books before and I would have said they were nothing special (except Gravity; I love Gravity!) but would not have been wary of picking up a library book with her name on the cover. Now I will have to Presume them Guilty. Hah no. Bu...more

When Miranda comes home to find her ex-lover dead in her bed, stabbed with her knife, she knows there's no way anyone will believe it wasn't her. But when someone posts her bail and all sorts of things start to happen, she realises she has to find out who the killer really is, no matter what the cost will be...

As I've said many times before, Tess Gerritsen's romantic thrillers aren't as good as her medical thrillers, but they are still very good. This particular story was my favourite of her rom...more

I finished Presumed Guilty by Tess Gerritsen today. Miranda finds her former adulterous lover dead in her bed and is accused of killing him. When she is anonymously bailed out of jail, she searches for the true killer with an unlikely partner, the deceased's brother, Chase. Their relationship becomes complicated when they start feeling an attraction towards each other. They uncover the truth and find a way to move on. It's a very thrilling novel with a romantic twist.

Tess Gerritsen is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! With that being said this book is not one of her more recent books which I had originally thought when I purchased it. I do enjoy her newer work better. I still thought this book was a good read. It didn't take long to get through and I felt that the plot was very quick moving and I didn't find myself wanting to put it down for long periods of time.

This book took me longer to read than any other Tess Gerritsen novel. I really only finished it because I'm sort of compulsive that way. I think I'll stick with the Rizzoli and Isles books from now on.

The characters weren't well drawn, and I didn't care about any of them. The identity of the murderer didn't seem to fit with the rest of the book, and the whole story just seemed to end with no resolution for what I call red herrings planted throughout the book. This reading effort left me totally...more

This was on my library's "new" shelf, but a quarter of the way through reading it I checked the copyright date, and it was published in 1993! I personally didn't find this to be one of Gerritsen's better efforts. The characters were thin stereotypes and the plot was entirely predictable with a mystery that was too obvious. Overall, pretty cheesy and kind of a waste of time... so, DON'T recommend....more

So bad it was good! In summary: cliched premise, cardboard cutout characters, overwrought language. The one redeeming quality is that in audio book format, it makes for okay background noise. For that reason alone, I am tempted to give it 2 stars. However, the author's clear and annoying anti-animal bias that doesn't ring true with respect to the dog-owning character makes my rating stay at a firm 1 star.

It was the first book I read by this author. I bought it at the airport so I could have something to read on the airplane.
I have to say that the romance in the story was really not that interesting, and kinda obvious. It reminded me of the days I used to read Meg Cabot's books. All so predictable: two people that hate each other until they fall in love.
The crime story is good, not new or anything.
Nancy Ellis
Another early and good Tess Gerritsen selection! Miranda tries to end her affair with her married boss, but he tries to get her back. She comes home to find him dead in her bed. Naturally everyone assumes she did it, but the hero (who happens to be the half-brother of the victim) is soon convinced of her innocence and together they work to solve the mystery. Entertaining and light reading.

this ia an east to read novel. It has the usual romance but also a' who done it ' whick Tess Gerritson keeps you wondering till the end. I really enjoyed reading the story of a murder in a small town and realised that the 'murderer' is not the obvious person, it leaves you to read the twists and turns till the culprit is revealed at the very end of the novel.

First published in 1993, this is no where as good as her newer books but still a good yarn. Other reviewers have mentioned the love scenes which I have to agree had a ring of Danielle Steel. Much as I enjoy a good romance there was a bit too much in this and it got a bit irritating. Still, good enough to have me reading it at 2am.

I love Tess Gerritsen's medical thrillers, but boy, this mystery/romance novel with the fragile, wispy, innocent looking "presumed guilty" victim is tedious. Pretty much every other page, TG reminds us of how fragile and haunting our girl is. Bleah. To be fair though, I'm pretty sure this is one of her first attempts.

An older romantic suspense book by the author. It was an okay read as long as you know that is what it is. I appreciate the note at the beginning of the book letting me know that is the case (I usually check the published dates) and saying that it was when she was writing more along the romantic lines.
Wendy
Another great stand alone book. I love that you dont need to know the order of her series to ejnoy the storyline of her books. She is another great crime writer on par with patricia cornwell and Kathy Reichs in my opinion. The book has realistic characters and well written plots tht have you reading well into the night to finish and has you has you wondering if he is really guilty or innocent.

An easy read but certainly the weakest I have read from Tess Gerritsen - thin in plot, predictable, nothing like the bone-chilling stories I have read from her. But I still finished it as it was light and suited me at the time. I will read reviews before I try my next one.
Bryan Higgs
I usually enjoy books by Tess Gerritsen, and this was no exception. It was a good escapist mystery read. I had pretty much figured out the perpetrator by the time all was revealed, but not by much. The pacing was good, the characters a little stylized, but OK.

Internationally bestselling author Tess Gerritsen took an unusual route to a writing career. A graduate of Stanford University, Tess went on to medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, where she was awarded her M.D.

While on maternity leave from her work as a physician, she began to write fiction. In 1987, her first novel was published. Call After Midnight, a romantic thriller...more
