Obviously, I'm biased. I wrote these books because it seemed to me the COOLEST thing in the world to go back in time to ancient Egypt. But if a person knew all the details and was just confirming (or rewriting) what she'd expected, then ... where would be the fun? The adventure? The growth? Enter Chloe -- modern woman, multi-cultural, forward-thinker, but with enough understanding to comprehend the history she's living, and the skills needed to (barely) make her way through.

I loved writing this...more

Hmm. This is a hard one to place and the German title for this is actually a little misleading which didn't help to reign in my expectations.

First I had a problem with the chapters set in modern Egypt. To me it seemed the protagonist was supposed to be this multi culturally receptive girl-woman, but often sounds like she is prone to have slight prejudice. All in all the family history and the characterization established in the first few pages let me roll my eyes a few times. It's a bit too perf...more

Through a confluence of factors, she ends up whisked through time, waking up in the body of an Egyptian woman. With her life at risk and her options diminishing, she finds herself strangely drawn...more

This turned out to be a time travel book (1st in a series). Chloe Kingsley is visiting her archaeologist sister in Egypt when she enters a forbidden chamber at the right time and place and wearing a special significant necklace. She is suddenly transported to ancient Egypt into the body of RaEmhetepet, a not-so-nice cow headed HatHor priestess. Chloe still has her twentieth century mind, reasoning, and historical knowledge to figure out what is going on. This is also a romance novel so she meets...more

This was really a fun book. It involves time travel to ancient Egypt and a large dose of romance. Actually, I could have done with a little less of the sexual side of the romance. Probably the best part of the book, as far as I was concerned, was the description of the plagues from the Old Testament since it was told from the viewpoint of Egyptians living through them. I felt that the characters were well-done, especially Thutmosis. The author had a different theory for the identity of the phara...more

I love re-reading favorite books. This is one of my all-time favorites; the story is just so unique and fun. I don't really know how many times I have read this one, but it's been a long since I last picked it up. Some of my impressions changed... The writing is good, but not great. What makes up for it, though, is the story. Ancient Egypt comes alive. Indeed, the modern scenes are more awkward than those in antiquity! I love Chloe and Cheftu's story, filled with non-stop action, twists and turn...more

I saw this book at the library and thought, what the heck I like Egypt so I'll give it a chance, well I am so happy that I did because I ended up loving it. I will be honest and say that it was slow at times but it was still good. I liked how the book (and this is sort of a spoiler so beware) had two time travelers from two different time periods, that was sort of a novel thing to me. Also the love story was very sweet. I believe that this is the first book in a 4 book series.
The Listmaker
A good story with an interesting premise.

I will admit to wondering if, when I turned the next page, I would find a pop-up of Charlton Heston staring me in the face since I felt like I was reading a different version of The Ten Commandments.

It's a good book and I look forward to the next one in the series.

While visiting her archaeologist sister in Egypt, Dallas artist Chloe Kingsley steps into a forbidden chamber and is whisked back in time to 1452 B.C.E. Caught in a maelstrom of political and personal intrigue, she meets and falls in love with Lord Cheftu, a court magus and physician.

This was an excellent book (the 1st in a great series). Pretty easy reading, but definitely captures your attention and imagination. I recommend the whole series (all are about ancient civilizations) to those of you who like historical fiction. (and there's a time travel element thrown in!)

I read this a long time ago and really liked it, but I didn't think it was as good this time around. I like the whole time travel thing and especially loved how Moses and the Exodus was worked into the story, but some of the reactions and motivations of Chloe just really didn't seem to fit.

I almost gave this book 3 stars because I did finish it. Too much Harlequin Romance for my taste and it dragged at times. But an interesting premise and lots of Egyptian color kept me reading even though the end was predictable. Apparently, it appeals to a lot of people. I downloaded it when I saw the high ratings. Just not my cup of tea.

I came across this book at a dollar store, and I was instantly taken by the characters in the story. I have since lent this series to someone I'll never see again, so I long to find it again one day. This is a great story about time travel, soul mates, and an unusual destiny.

Egypt is one of the countries I fell in love with as a child. Mummy's, pyramids and pharoahs - what more could a girl ask for? This book is a bit more grown-up than my childhood Egyptian reads, but I loved it anyway. Time travel is always fun and Frank does it in a good way.

This book was recommended on another forum as a good novel for someone who enjoyed the Outlander series. I loathe the Outlander series but the synopsis of Reflections in the Nile intrigued me so I decided to give it a shot. From page one, I was engrossed. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel! You can tell that Suzanne Frank spent time researching ancient Egypt; I felt like I was there! I can't wait to read the others in the series!
cathepsut
Chloe visits her sister, an archeologist, in Luxor. She does the usual sight seeing and also goes to the Sound and Light show at Karnak temple. She decides that she wants to see the sunrise from inside the temple to take some photos and hides in a small side chamber. Then, suddenly, when she kneels down to pick something up from the ground, everything shifts and wavers and she finds herself in the body of someone else in the times of Pharao Hatchepsut.
A romantic novel with an archeologocal twist...more

I am a big fan of anything Egypt and loved this book. I really feel the author did extensive research to create the story.

Totally one dimensional characters. Wanted to like it so much but just couldn't. Love time-travel, love ancient Egypt, love female protagonists and love-hate-betrayal relationships, but for some reason it just didn't do it for me.
Kristin
Love, Love, love this book and the rest of the series. I re-read them every year.

First in a series of time travel back to ancient Egypt. All Chloe Kingsley wants to do is find her way home. Instead she finds herself in Egypt in the reign of Hatshepsut. She meets a young physician, Cheftu who has some secrets of his own. She also meets Moses of the bible and experiences the chaos of Egypt and travails of the Israelites.
That Moses should be living in the time of Hatshepsut is one surprise but there are many more to come as the novel progresses.
Ann
I loved this series of books, they took place in biblical times with egyptian history too. I can't figure out what happened with this book, it was almost like a different author wrote it. Nothing tied together, too many characters, it was just pretty disappointing. Sad. Read the other three, they were terrific.
Alba
Oh.. pretty good :)
I read it in two days.
