I feel like a broken record, but it’s true. I always become fully involved when reading a BRENDA MINTON book, and HIS LITTLE COWGIRL was no exception.

The last thing Cody Jacob’s expects when he makes a stop to ask for forgiveness from a girl he met years ago is to discover he’s a father. At the top of his career as a bull rider, a little cowgirl and his mother have him rethinking what’s important in life.

Bailey Cross has every right not to trust Cody Jacob after he ran out on her years ago. Wi

I read this the first time quite a few years ago before I began reviewing so I read it for the second time today.

In this story we have thirty-year old bull rider, Cody, whose life is out of control...completely. He's an alcoholic to the point of risking his life and riding bulls while intoxicated and has hopped from woman to woman for many years.

Bailey is a twenty-eight year old single mother who has fallen on hard times. Her and her daughter live with her father and he is dying of cancer. The
At 17, Bailey decides to follow the rodeo cowboys for a summer.she finds Cody a rodeo star unfortunately she gets pregnant. She tries to tell him but he is onto the next rodeo and she doesn't follow along so he is unaware. She stays living with her father. When her daughter is 5 years old and she is 22, Cody comes back into her life. He stops at her house to see her and catch up on old times. Bailey had wanted to break the news about his daughter to him but not yet. It doesn't work that way as, ...more

I thought this book was a little 'deeper' than most 'Love Inspired' novels. It dealt with the concept of letting go, and also stepping up to your responsibilities, and reminded me that the way to do both properly is with God's help.
While I enjoyed the 4 main characters, I also was really intrigued by a few of the secondary characters and hope that I'll get to see more of their stories further on in the series!

This is the second book that I have read by this author and I have throughly enjoyed reading both very much. She has a special gift for writing and getting the readers completely involved with all the characters. How can a reader NOT fall in love with a gorgeous cowboy and an adorable little girl??!!
Bailey is a single parent who is struggling to raise her daughter, take care of a farm, work as a waitress,& make ends meet while taking care of her ill father. Cody is a cowboy who left town 6 y

The first book I've read by this author, it was an enjoyable story, though it seemed to drag out just a little too long. Bailey has been raising her daughter as a single mother, with her father's help, for five years. Her father is ill and unable to work, and life is a struggle as she tries to keep up the mortgage payment and keep their heads above water. One day Cody Jacobs shows up on her doorstep, the father of her daughter who he doesn't know exists. Working his way through the AA 12 step pr ...more

I loved the way these characters had real life challenges but didn't whine about them! They struggled and turned to the scriptures and finally learned what Heavenly Father intended from the challenge. I'm excited about this series and can't wait to get to the next book!

His little cowgirl

I really enjoyed this book. It held my attention throughout the entire story. I especially liked the relationship between Bailey and her father. I was a daddy's girl too.

Cute story -- heart warming -- to say the least ... quick read for me - loved all the way unafraid to mention nor give glory to God.

Bailey Cross lives on her family farm with her daughter and ailing father. Cody Jacobs stops by to "make amends" but gets more than he bargained for.

This is an excellent story of a bull rider who was living his life drinking and partying it up with a different woman in each town. Then after a bad accident he found God and turns his life around. He gets sober and starts looking up people that he has wronged to apologize to them. On his first stop, he discovers the woman he had left when she declared her love to him had his daughter. The man falls in love immediately with his 5 year old daughter and is determined to find a place back in their ...more

Sometimes it takes experience and a few years to grow up...that's what it took for Cody to finally see how having roots and a stable life was what he really wanted. He knew he wanted to make amends to his old girlfriend, but this bull rider never expected the ride he now had before him when he stopped by her father's ranch. He meets a little cowgirl that helps him think through decisions ahead. With a mixture of sadness and happiness as in real life, this competitive rider looks to Christ for th ...more

don't know why, but i seem to be in a "sappy" mood of late. been reading LOTS of romances, versus the usual twisted thrillers. maybe it's just the time of year. anyway ...

this was a really good one. all the characters were VERY down to earth and "real". would have preferred a happier ending for "Dad", but ... life unfortunately does NOT always work out that way 8^( at least he went to his heavenly home at peace that things on earth for his daughter and grand-daughter were more settled

Who would not fall in love with little cowgirl with pink boots. Brenda Minton gives you a way to believe in second chances as well making things right. She gives a story of a strong cowboy trying to make things right. It is an adventure. dealing with bull riding, ranching and a sick parent.

If you want a clean book that can be read quickly, this one is for you. The story drags a bit and the tension in the book was corny. It was o.k.
