i think this was a brilliant book in a lot of ways - from what i remember, it is, in keeping with the tradition of radical feminism, somewhat essentialist and i find that problematic, but i think (and Burstow might well disagree) that most of this book can be carried across. Essentialism notwithstanding, her feminist analysis was in many cases spot on, i thought (though i haven't read it for years) as was her critiques of the psych system, violence etc. and her absolute dedication to autonomy an ...more
