This is the 3 in 1 book Kindle set of my vampire series ALMOST HUMAN. It became available on Amazon's Kindle 7-3-08

I have read all three books of this wonderful trilogy by a new upcoming and very talented writer.

Melanie Nowak has written an exciting Trilgy of a young teenager Felicity, off to her first year of sleep-away college in an upstate rural town.
She works in a bookstore with a coffee shoppe attached, very close it was told, to the Borders bookstore in Ms Nowaks hometown.

We meet Cain, a 340 yr old vampire, who is in town to protect the locals from a rash of deaths due to his people. In this story we c
I bought this trilogy based on the overall scoring and the reviews posted and I was not disappointed. Many of the reviews compared this trilogy to the Twilight series. I am a huge fan of Twilight but was not looking for this series to be identical; I wanted this trilogy to be completely separate and carry on a story of its own (which it did). I realize that there were some similarities, but I did not feel ALMOST HUMAN was simply taking the Twilight stories and just inserting new character names. ...more

Fantastic series. Highly recommend these 3 stories in this first trilogy about vampires. The 2nd trilogy continues with Born to Blood. Awesome read. Melanie Nowak is a terrific author who gives us character depth and ties the reader emotionally to these characters. You'll fall in love with Cain and Felicity as well as other characters in this storyline. This first trilogy sets the stage as the plot begins to thicken in the 2nd trilogy Born to Blood. Anxiously awaiting the next book in the Born t ...more
I've read a lot of paranormal books and I have to say that this book is my absolute favorite. The characters are relatable and you find yourself really caring about what happens to them next. The author really pulls you in and you don't want to put the book down for a second. I can't wait until she releases the next book.

I liked this better than the "Twilight" series. Am looking forward to Book 4!
This series is entirely predictable and is more like a beach read. Completely forgettable characters. The writing is simplistic. One female character seemed way too eccentric that seemed like the author was trying too hard and others were becoming annoying. There is a whole range of characters but focuses on Felicity and Cain, and later on Ben, in this trilogy. It's a standard plot of college girl meeting hundred something year old vampire Caine and their growing love. Oh, and a bit of 'adventur ...more
When I read all of the positive reviews and the story line I was sold and ordered the Trilogy. Once I started reading it I was hooked within the first few pages of the story. The characters are so believable and approachable. Great writing skills and rythm! Loved how the stories alternate in first person narration between the 2 main characters, Felicity-a wonderful normal average freshman college student, and Cain-a 300+ year old vampire who's strong, humble, tortured soul who struggles with a s ...more

It is difficult to log on to Amazon forums, and not find Melanie Nowak's Almost Human Trilogy listed as a paranormal/vampire fan favorite. And now I know why! Endearing characters and an engaging plot flow beautifully through all three volumes of this memorable story. Felicity is the reluctant heroine, Cain, the elder vampire seeking redemption, Sindy, the bloodthirsty temptress, and Ben, the charming mortal, all dragged into a venomous struggle for power in a small college town.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It made you feel like you were a part of what was going on. The characters were awesome!! I have always liked the books that made your really hate a character through a good portion of the book and then really like them at the end. I won't spoil this for anyone and tell you who that character was for me but I thought all of the main characters was awesome!! I also like to judge a book on how well the descriptions of the characters and the scenes are. No disappoint ...more
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME book! This book reminds me a lot of the Twilight series, but a bit edgier. I couldn't put it down. The end of this first trilogy leaves me wanting for the next book. Can't wait!
I dont have words to say how great these books were! People who havent read these books yet, you dont know what youre losing!

Great Read! Highly recommended.

I'm going to start with what I didn't like about the First Trilogy so I can get that over with. I found that in chunks of the book the story seemed to drag a bit and some things were over explained with information I felt I didn't need. Also the size of the book is intimidating to say the least lol I would probably go and buy the first trilogy in the 3 separate books instead of all in 1 if your intimidated by a huge looking book. Ok now th

Outstanding Series!!! I would give it six stars if I could. My cousin told me to purchase the "Almost Human" series on my kindle. She promised me I would not regret it. I figured I would give it a try, and if I didn't like it I would put it down like I've done with other books. Well, I never put it down. In fact, I kept my kindle with me everywhere I went for an entire week. When I finished the series I wanted more. I became so addicted to the story that I had to read it again instantly because ...more

My review:
Volume 1: Fatal Infatuation
First of all I loved this book right from the first chapter. I loved the characters especially Felicity, she has everything going for her but doesn’t seem to realise it. She is a well rounded character and has been written in such a way as to make you believe she really does exist, of course she also has character traits but this makes her all the more lovable. Cain is an in depth and intriguing character who has not only lived many centuries, wants to follow

Overall the whole trilogy gets a fantastic 4 out of 5 gnomes for having intriguing characters and vampires who have a lot of personality. I really like how this trilogy is set up because each book leads right into the next and you never know what's going to happen next so you end up getting drawn right into the story. Each chapter is set up in the beginning almost as if it's a play or on TV. It can vary among the chapters but you le

This is one of those books that was pleasantly surprising. After reading the description, I was leery because it just screamed TWILIGHT. I got this book in the 3 in 1 binding and I’m glad I did--each book ends so abruptly, I would not have enjoyed it had I not had the following book immediately. It is a large book and was pretty intimidating when I sat down to start reading it, but the stories flow so well, that was a detail easily forgotten. I can’t review this as 3 separate books because I did ...more

This is a MUST READ series! Absolutely one of the best vampire series ive read to date. it makes you laugh, cry, and at some points yelling why! the charactors are so wonderfully written you cant help but to love them all even the villians.

i dont want to be repetitive in description about what the book is about but i do want to describe what i loved most about this series. the relationship between felicity and cainis has growth! i hate those girl meets guy and they are automatically fall in lov
I would've given this book a 5 star rating, if Cain's (male lead character) internal struggles wasn't so dragged out and annoying. Eventually I skimmed over his thoughts because I already knew how he was feeling. It felt like the author was trying to see how many different ways she can convey the same message throughout all 3 books. He wants her, wants to turn her, but doesn't want to force her and turning her is the only way to make their relationship work. Wow! check that out! I just summarize ...more
I tried. I really did. But I hate, loathe, despise writing that is this immature.

The author does alot of telling, almost no showing, and stuck to simple sentences with nearly identical sentence structures.

An example: "She looked at the size of the speakers compared to the size of the bar. They were going to be deaf by the end of the evening for sure. Alyson noticed her and jumped down to meet her."

By itself, that's not so bad. But imagine it page after page! She did this. She did that. She th
This is such a great series! I read all published books in less than a week, and am anxiously awaiting the release of descendents of darkness!
I highly recommend this trilogy its one you cant put down. Immediately you feel so close with all the characters. I love reading reviews on this series. We must support Melanie, I'd love for this series to become a movie for us paranormal romance readers!!!!

Volume 1-Fatal Infactuation: I give One star. I did not like this book at all and completely regretted buying this 3 in 1 trilogy. I did not feel or care for the characters. Cain I could not picture or envision him @ all. And Felicity I was not quite sure what I thought of her. I did immediately like Ben and to be honest he was the most interesting of all the characters in this book. Sindy I did not like nor cared what happened with her and her "complicated" personality. I loved the series. I have not read any book recently that was so completely well thought out and with so much growth in the characters. The books are detailed and with great history explanations. I feel that this series has not been given enough credit. I just found out about the books over two weeks ago and on the first chapter I was taken. People please give it a chance you won’t regret it. It has it all: vampires, romance, history, personal growth for both vampire and humans and concept of f ...more
