We all live ordinary lives. We wake up in the morning, we go to work/school/whatever, we work our asses off, we come home, we watch a little tv, maybe hang out with some friends or cuddle with our significant other and we go to sleep. And then we dream. We dream of being rich, being famous, being a trendsetter, winning the lottery.

Yes, we ALL want to be that girl, the one who hit the jackpot!

I find myself getting very annoying and sick of the characters in her books. I think she was going for charming with little old naive, innocent Darcy, but she just came off being really annoying and stupid. The way she talked was so aggravating-she would go into detail about the smallest of things, and it was really creepy how she would describe things and notice things.
For example, she goes into particular detail describing the relationship between Mac's mom and dad, like how they're so More...

Before The MacGregor Grooms, the oldest grandson of Daniel MacGregor had to get married, and, of course, Mac finds his true love in Nora Roberts' The Winning Hand, a Silhouette Special Edition romance novel.

::: Back to Vegas We Go :::

Robert MacGregor Blade, otherwise known as Mac Blade, is the oldest son of Serena and Justin Blade, owners of a chain of casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Mac is content with his life managing his parents' casino in Vegas, The Comanche, and More...

Darcy Wallace got tired of trying to convince her ex-fiance that he was really an ex. She packed her car and drove to Las Vegas. First her purse was stolen and then her car broke down about an hours walk from town. Some might see these things as bad omens but Darcy refuses to quit. She walks into town, strolls in to a casino, and plays practically her few dollars on a progressive slot machine. She's not even aware she won the jackpot when the lights and bells start. When the casino owner tells h More...

I love a good fairy tale like story (It's the child in me). So when small town girl Darcy Wallace becomes an instant millionaire by playing her last few dollars on a Las Vegas slot machine, this initiates a cascade of fun loving female delights including shopping, a make-over and gaining the attention of casino owner, Mac MacGregor. The plot was light, fluffy and fun.

The Winning Hand is the book by Nora Roberts that I reread the most!

I love how Mac and Darcy are together. It's just super adorable. She's really innocent, valnerable, and strong-willed. ANd Mac is kind, determined, and really really HOT!

I love how Mac takes care of Darcy, it's one of the most romantic thing a woman can ever asked for in a guy.

A shorter (only 250 pages) romance novel about a down-on-her-luck but likeable heroine fleeing to Vegas and hitting the jackpot. That's the beginning of the story. It gets better from there, and is well worth picking up. It will make you want to flee to Vegas with just $9.37 in your pocket.

I'm such a sucker for angst! This book had it...lots and lots of make you good for nothing so that you read it all in one day, angst! I'm usually more articulate but I really did do nothing but read this book all day and now it's late and I'm sleepy! Day well spent though. :)

It's been a while since I've read a romance. A good romance. Lately, the romance books I've picked up have had males who are jerks and females that are submissive. What I loved about this story was Darcy's fragility at the beginning of the book and her growth of character as the story continued. She was a delight to read. She was sweet but not weak. She knew what she wanted (and that happened to include Mac) and did her best to obtain her goals. Plus, I loved how something so impossible, such as More...

Great read! I love the continuing stories on the MacGregors. The characters seem to jump right off the page. I have read all of the stories in this line and love the way Roberts weaves her tales. I can't wait to read more!

Really predictable and I disliked nearly every character! When you're not sympathetic to the protagonist it makes it hard to enjoy a book like this. Good if you just want a light romance but not for me.

An older but all time classic Nora Roberts. The hero and heroine are both engaging characters and the hero's parents and grandfather are also personable. The story is fun - a great beach read.

I LOVE the MacGregor books, and this one is my favorite; it's my go-to book when I am feeling down. The message I receive is that there is always hope. Thank you, Nora Roberts!

Absolutely a comfort read and one of my favourite contemporary romances by NR. I like the MacGregor series anyway, but this is my absolute favourite of them all.

I feel like I have read this book before, although I'm pretty sure that I haven't. I didn't like the ending because it didn't feel cohesive to the rest of the story. It felt like the author said, "Oops, I think I should end the story riiiight here." It seemed much too sudden for the story.

This might be my favorite of all the MacGregor books - there's just something about the underdog that I love with this story!
