A good read. I started out with a bad attitude towards this book. The review mentioned an adulterous affair, and threatened a marraige. However I could not help connect with the characters, and while I do not condone the affair, the author dealt with the issue in a way that I was content with. However the big climax at the end, left me lacking, and I was not overly emotionally involved at the point. So... I enjoyed the first three quarters of the book, more than the last quarter.

A talented painter spends her days waiting tables until a physicist on leave from California moves to the area with his wife. Sarah becomes a caretaker for their ill child, and the attraction between Sarah and the father grows.

A little slow getting into - good read, however.

I really enjoyed this book and the way Graham pains the lives of her characters. The storyline is one that could have been written by anyone, but I feel like she really made you experience the emotions that Sarah had in every step of her decisions for herself.

Give it a try.

Another winner with lots of story in it. I like Janice Graham's characters. A love triangle again but they bring so much interest and you care about them all.
Gail Hamilton
Graham manages to make Kansas as interesting a backdrop for this story as she does Paris later on in the same book. I liked the twists and turns.

I did not care for this book very much. It did hold my interest but its not a novel I would recommend.
Mary
It was a fast easy read. It was a little sad, but I did not connect with characters enough to actually shed a tear for them.
Heather
This is an excellent book, set in Kansas. Very well done, too, from this Kansas resident's point of view.

I'd write a review but I have already wasted too much time on this book.
Colleen
A good light book. A little “romancy”, but not too much.
Candy
Boring-I just never connected with the characters.
Michelle
Very good book with some interesting turns, though you can guess the outcome easily enough.
Nan Williams
Boring ...

This was a really good book. There were some twists in the plot that I didn't see coming so that was nice. I hate when you know what is going to happen before it happens! Sarah's character was great. She was funny, loving, and real.

I really enjoyed this read. Haven't we all dreamed of spiriting off and starting over? Although happily ever afters are sometimes sappy, this book was really sweet and thoughtful. Ah, to know what the future holds.... We would probably all make different decisions in life? "It is a peculiarity of man that he can only live by looking to the future..." Vikto E. A young woman in Kansas falls in love with a married Physicist from California while babysitting his adopted son. I usually am turned off by any book dealing with adultery, but the author is able to make you sympathetic to everyone who's involved. I like Janice Graham's books.

I've only just begun this one. It was written by a colleague of mine who used to teach English in the school where I taught Spanish. The writing is great so far. I have yet to pass judgment on the storyline, however.
Jan Miller
Fairly decent novel, but I wouldn't call it great literature. Basically a love story. Kind of fun because it's set in real towns in the Flint Hills. Also, the author lives part time in Wichita.
Michelle
started out good - did not like the ending. part of the plot was someone had to die so the two in love could be together. not a good twist - wouldn't recommend it -
Greg
Can't remember it
