Incredible book, told from the perspective of Native American women. Women helped to maintain the vitality of the tribe. They erected tipis, gathered food, grew maize, tanned buffalo hides and raised children. Women were thought to possess special powers, not only the ability to bring forth life, but other abilities which might very well render a warrior unsuccessful. Therefore, at a woman's time, she was usually segregated from the rest of the tribe in an attempt to control her powerful medicin ...more
