It has been awhile since I invested in a new book, but when I saw that this nice volume was out I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! I met Ms. Seiff at breakfast one morning a couple of years ago at the Southeast Animals Fiber Fair and heard from her that she was working on this book. The finished product exceeds my expectations, which were high!

Wasn't impressed with the patterns; tried to include a bit of everything in their selection and the idea just didn't work out. As a compendium/coffee table on fiber festivals, it has done pretty well. An update with the two Vogue Knitting Live events, the various Stitches events and the Midwest Fiber & Folk art fair would also be nice.
The author takes us on a tour of 10 U.S. wool festivals. There are gorgeous photos of all phases of "wool" - sheep, shearing, washing the fleece, carding, spinning, etc. There are several projects of different sorts - spinning, knitting, weaving. This is an entertaining, informational and fun book. The "voice" is lively and positive.
This book contains enthusiastic descriptions of 10 U.S. wool festivals. Each really does have its own personality. I'm very familiar with the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival, close to home; reading more only justifies my desire to visit some of the other great festivals (like Rhinebeck, Asheville, Black Sheep, Estes Park, Taos, Missouri, Michigan... wait, did I just list them ALL?).

An interesting non fiction read about fiber festivals! Yay!
Highlights a bit about the yarn industry in USA.
I'm sure I would find this book more interesting and useful if I was actually going to one of the fiber fairs the author discusses. It would be a wonderful resource in that case. None of the patterns really struck me, but they seemed nice.
Cute book with great stories. The stories are better than the patterns.
