Not sure, but it may have been YA. The protagonist is in his late teens or maybe early twenties, living in the relatively near future (maybe 2050), and travels back repeatedly to the same year -- maybe mid 1980s? Which is probably also about when I read it....more

I often read juvenile sf to see what the kids out there are reading--or were reading. This find from a library book sale is a straight forward time travel SF novel of an 18 year old genius who travels back in time.
His goal is to seek info to help the people living in his underground complex to survive.
