I HATE THIS BOOK! It was poorly written and contained the worst ending of all times. I truly believe that Brandi Johnson needs to go back to her day job and leave writing to the "big guys". The cover and synopsis are both misleading. I almost didn't read it because I thought was going to about a woman but it was really about a teenager.
In the beginning, I fell in love with Dariel and I really thought he was a good guy until the end when he went back to Trouble after everything he went through w
When reading this book I thought this is a long book and if its not interesting then I'm not going to want to do this. But I finished the first chapter I was hooked on this book. I couldn't put it down and refused to put it down. This book pulled me in right from the beginning and was able to keep me in through to the end. I enjoyed every moment that this book had. I also really enjoyed the fact that I was able to feel as though I knew the characters, especially in one point of the book with a d ...more

This book is about a girl an her brother goin through a hard time cause they mamma is a creakhead. And she ends up with relationship problems.
I thought the book was good. Most books I've read are very similar story wise but this one was fr a different angle. I enjoyed this book
Pure crap. And I'm being kind. The author is illiterate, the story is trite and the characters are less than one-dimensional.
this was a gooD interstinG bOOk i likeD the endinG

Brandi Johnson did a great job as painting a very vivid picture of her characters and hard struggles. Candria or as most people call her Trouble is a well taken kind of girl. Despite her mother being on drugs and her father leaving for another women Trouble's brother Jyson stepped up to the plate.Trouble is envied by every girl in her high school expect her close friends and wanted by every boy. She has her eye on one in particular Dariel Daniels who is her best friend's cousin. She has been in ...more
Honestly, I really liked the book. I don't think it was bad at all. I liked how the author really made me feel like I was in the characters shoes. I think the author was trying to explain or tell a story about what goes on in a black family that is going through the struggle and I think the author achieved that because I say people, families go through stuff like that everyday and nobody can never know so I think this book was inspiring to me. I also think the author was trying to tell or show u ...more

Great but ending was to fast; dragged out, not to suspenseful. 6 out of 10.
This book was ok. It was slow but managed to keep me interested until the end. I will admit however on the part when Jyson,Candria's brother was killed it struck a nerve and made me cry because at that point I began to identify with Candria's charactor I lost my brother at a young young age and we were extremely close so that part I related to her pain and grief, aside from that the book was ok. It is worth a one time read.
Book Fiend
maybe other people saw something i didn't but i just didnt enjoy this book the story line was just too obvious i knew what would happen after i finished reading the 1st chapter. This story line has been played out and has lost essence

Although this book was about a teenager who was consumed with doing teenage things, it was also about a relationship between a sister and a brother. I really enjoyed this book. Read: 2010.
I can relate, I use to be on drugs! i have kids, so it was important that I got my shit together so my kids wouldnt have to suffer for my mistakes or neglecting them!
loved it. hated that jayson died, but it ended pretty good. could have went into a lil more detail on some things. still good though. is there a part 2.
