This is the first and only Battletech book that I ever read, and I am highly unlikely to read anymore of them, simply because I am not really interested in books that are spin offs of roleplaying games (which is what this is, though Battletech is more of a wargame than a roleplaying game). I might have read more of them back in my dark days, if I was more intent on reading books, but now, I am more interested in books that actually have some meaning behind them rather than some form of cash cow

This is the first book in the Battletech series and I must admit that it did not sweep me off my feet like I was expecting. I really love the idea of Battletech, I also enjoy the game quite a bit, including the newer versions in the realm of Mechwarrior. While I did ultimately enjoy this book quite a bit, I felt it started off a bit slowly. This is really the only reason I gave it 3 stars, otherwise it would have merited a solid four stars. After I got to a certain point I just tore through

This was my first visit to the Battletech universe in a long time and I can't honestly say that my high rating of this book isnt somewhat clouded by nostalagia. However the idea of huge fighting robots duking it out on wreckage strewn battlefields still appeals nearly 16 years after I first read them. The way of the Clans is the begining of the Jade Falcon trilogy as it was then as characters from this trilology go on to appear in several more books. It describes the training of a young mech

I began my Mech reading with Threads of Ambition, which is IS (Inner Sphere) based, but when I picked up Way of the Clans, I couldn't put it down until it was finished, and I kept re-reading it and was addicted to the clan life, I may not be an advent Clan Jade Falcon enthusiest, but I do give credit where it is due

As my first foray into Battletech Fiction, I appreciated the glossary of terms and drawings of Mechs in the back of the book. As for the story, it was dense. I thought the action was spotty but the intrigue was interesting.

A part of the Battletech books I got from a book sale, Way of the Clans is extremely well written, bringing you into the way of the life of a Clan warrior youth who begins training to become a Mechwarrior, one of the society's elite...

All hail Aidan, Falcon warrior.

This was the first Battletech book that I read and led to buying many, many more of them. If I could go back, I'd probably start with the Warrior trilogy first, but this is a good intro to the Clan side of things.
