This is a first-person account of a specialized branch of the armed services which has received little attention from military historians. Ursula Powys-Lybbe was one of the high-ranking officers at RAF Medmenham during World War Two, and decided to write this book of history thirty-seven years after the war ended.

She did an excellent job of compiling the historical records, as well as the memories and observations of other photographic interpreters. Of the several hundred interpreters who worked
