D.J. Manly is one of those authors that are either a hit or miss with me. I basically like most all of the books I have read by D.J., so I usually don’t hesitate to buy anything written by him/her.
I knew when I read the description of what In the Eye of the Beholder was about I had to read it immediately.

Frank was once a world famous fashion photographer, whose own physical beauty almost surpassed the models he photographed for a living, is now scarred horribly by a jilted ex-lover. Now almost

Kinda disappointing :/

I loved the setting, but in the first part I almost couldn't stand Danny - he's been too much of an asshole, too superficial, too vain etc. Despite some sweet moments between them I almost wished for Frank to find someone more worthy. But in the second part punishment came and well it turned out to be an overkill for me. Danny's been suffering for months, Frank's been sleeping around and I ended up feeling incredibly sorry for Danny and almost losing all my sympathy for Fra

The Revival

After finishing 'Eye of the Beholder' by D.J. Manly. I was pleasantly surprised to see that 'Revival', the sequel of the series was also included. Besides being ecstatic about being able to continue their story, I was happy because it helped me confirm my feelings about what type of men Frank and Danny actually were or at least could be. Throughout all their troubles, I held on to the faith that out of their pain and despair their true selves would rise up like the Phoenix allowing th
I enjoyed this book. I would have given it a 4 except for one problem. In the beginning of the book, Frank seems like he's "learned his lesson" about the important things in life. That he's stepped away from the shallowness of the modeling industry. He just comes across as having been enlightened by the incident that left him scarred. He leaves the scars so that he doesn't forget what happened and who he was.

Then in the second half of the book, it's like he tosses all that enlightenment under th

3 and half stars. Nothing much to say about this except that I did take to Frank, less to Danny (models aren't my fav protags though I am changing my mind about actors. Didn't those before either.) The story was wrapped up pretty fast and I would have liked a couple more pages to get into the issues that kept that apart for a year instead of it being resolved so quickly and easily when Frank WAS hurt badly by Danny and especially when time WAS spent building up their relationship.
The first I've read by this author but I liked it. Very sexy, good characters.
A fun story with unique characters. Lots of angst, then love.

I write not only for my own pleasure, but for the pleasure of my readers. I can’t remember a time in my life when I haven’t written and told stories. When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming about writing, doing something wild and adventurous, or trying to make the world a better and more open minded place to live in. I adore beautiful men, and I know I’m not alone in this! Eroticism between consenting ...more
