The author provides two worthy perspectives on the war in Vietnam—especially that relating to the Tet Offensive. One is his first-hand experience as a chopper gunship team command pilot and army captain while the war was still hot. The other, as a researcher who has spent the following decades closely examining it as more data has become accessible.
