If you're looking for a fun read to finish before bedtime, UNDEAD AND UNEASY will do the trick. It only takes about two hours to read from first page to last, and you'll get in a few laughs along the way.

Betsy is still preparing for her wedding to Vampire King Eric Sinclair, but this time there are even more complications than usual -- Jessica is still sick with cancer, some people close to her have ended up dead, Tina has been sent to ease ruffled vampire feathers in Europe, and the King himse...more

According to MaryJanice:
"Everything in the Undead universe has been leading to this book (say it with me: poor Betsy!). Yes, there has been a method to my madness. The support group she has so carefully, if unconsciously, been building around herself, that I've been building for her, is about to disappear."

Sooo... yes, I think this is the best book of Undead so far!
And yes, I like how Betsy finally can have a little bit of suspense and real kick-ass, instead of whining all day about constant cra...more

Well the first 3 quarter of this book is in a mess, not that the author did something wrong, what I mean is Betsy's life, more and more questions/problem throwing at her. The biggest problem among all, is that Betsy is getting married (ok, we are human, so we are going to ignore what the dead bible says ;))next week and the groom is no where to be found, even worse, they have a big fight before Sinclair gone missing. I gave 3 stars instead of 4 cause SINCLAIR IS MISSING for almost the whole book...more

A lot of unexpected events here and true to the author's promise, you'll feel uneasy too but you will enjoy it. I trusted her words and so should you. This is her most serious Undead novel and I have to admit I got anxious but like MJD said, tragedy and conflict are part of living, or in this case, undying. I appreciate what she did in this book, without the serious problems, it wouldn't be a colorful and roller coaster ride. It just developed the characters and their relationship with each othe...more

I liked this book WAY better than the last one. Things were kinda lame and boring in the last book. I rarely laughed at a single moment, so I didn't have high hopes for this book. I was just praying that things would pick back up and I was pleased that this book upped the standards.

There wasn't much Sinclair in it for obvious reasons (the dude's missing), so I was suffering from a bit of Sinclair/Betsy interaction withdrawal. I felt like this book was more about Betsy as a character and how she'...more

As preparations continued for the wedding of the Queen of Vampires and her King, Betsy Taylor founder she was not just having to deal with all the arrangements herself, but everything. Everyone had deserted her. Some of them had good reasons even if Betsy hated to admit it, but most of them just disappeared like they were hiding from the Bridezilla she felt she was quickly becoming. The only thing that kept bugging Betsy was that she really didn’t think that Eric Sinclair (her absent bridegroom)...more

I read the first two books in this series back in 2004. I know, that was ages ago. I loved Undead and Unwed so much I gave it an A- at All About Romance. I loved the sarcasm and the over-the-top superficial heroine and the in-your-face sensuality all of which wasn't overdone yet back then. It was a case of the right book at the right time. I was burning out on traditional romances, after having read too many in a row. I wasn't as thrilled with Undead and Unemployed though. It seemed...more

Undead and Uneasy is the 6th book in MaryJanice Davidson's Betsy Taylor series. Betsy Taylor is the Queen of the Vampires. She really doesn't want to be a Queen. She didn't even want to be a vampire. She woke up one morning to find that she was dead and had been turned into a vampire. In the big Book of the Dead, it prophesied that she would be queen and her consort would be the delectably sexy, Eric Sinclair. Sure enough it comes true and now Betsy is planning her wedding to Eric. Betsy is abou...more

I started this book at 10pm and stayed up reading it till 3am the next moringing. I did not and could not put it down. As all Queen Betsy books are, it was hilarious & witty. The author gives a little note at the beginning about this book being the one to wrap up all the previous books hangers like the zombie in the attic from Undead and Unpopular. She also talks about characters dying and I admit I gritted my teeth with fear for the charaters I hold dear. I can't help it, I've had too many...more

I thought the last Queen Betsy book was the best of the series. I was pleased to find that this one was even better. A lot of things that have been building book over the last couple of volumes came to fruition here. Betsy's wedding, for one. Also, suddenly Betsy's alone in the house that is usually very crowded. Something must be brewing, and trouble is coming from a very unexpected corner. Betsy has to figure out what's going on all by herself, and although it seems like she might not be able...more

The best Betsy book I've read so far, this one wraps up the first several books into a nice little conclusion, so not sure where things are going from here. A quick read as always, maybe 3 or 4 hours total. Funny, lighthearted, and amusing as always. I still don't know why she's marrying Sinclair, all they do is fight, and all she does is moan what a jerk he is. Betsy's still a spoiled, flighty, somewhat dumb dingbat, but that's what makes her fun to read. Were she a real person I had to deal wi...more

I almost didn’t read this book. The “Letter to My Readers” Davidson writes is vastly exaggerated. I was expecting major, beloved characters to die. No way did I want to read about what would happen if Jessica lost her battle, or one of the vamps got staked. I was proud of Betsy for stepping up to the plate and kicking ass all by herself. Luckily, I was familiar with the short story that provides the underlying concept for this plot. Otherwise I don’t think I would have been quite as “into” the v...more

Slow to start but funny and entertaining - it's hard to explain. I love the Betsy series - they make me laugh right out loud - but they feel thin on plot and a little rough. That being said - this one was mildly entertaining. I guess these books kinda start out with a real slow burn plot wise then they spark up and burn real bright then fizzle right out. They always feel like the author gets so excited to tie up loose ends that she just buttons everything right up and ties it with a neat little...more

The wedding is just a few weeks away and Betsy does not have her dress, Eric Sinclair (hunky vampire groom) is not helping, and then there is the furneral.
Betsy finds herself alone after having a house full of supportive people (undead and alive) to help her and take care of all the problems.
Suddenly she is forced to figure out what is happening and what to do about it, on her own! I love how Betsy was able to "step up to the plate" stop being whiny and take charge! After all, she is the Vampi...more

Undead and Uneasy, the 6th installment of the Undead series, finds Betsy in a lonely situation. Her wedding to Sinclair is only weeks away, but the groom mysteriously disappeared after they had a fight. On top of that, everyone else in Betsy’s life is either away or preoccupied with other things. The only company Betsy has is BabyJon and a group of werewolves that unexpectedly show up at the mansion for rather strange and alarming reasons.

I really enjoyed Undead and Uneasy. After reading the pre...more

A friend passed along this vampire book (because evidently I love all things vampire? not!) but it's the 6th in the series. The author claims that you can jump into book 6 and still follow what's going on. Well here's the thing--it starts out witty and actually very funny, but there's way too much bad language so that doesn't synche with me. So after getting to around page 30 and instead of starting mid-series and/or getting into it at all, I think I'm just gonna pass it up. Bella and Sookie are...more

Undead and Uneasy, the sixth installment in Davidson's Queen Betsy series takes place a few weeks before Betsy and Sinclair's wedding ceremony. As usual Eric Sinclair is not interested in wedding preparations, something he is going along with to please Betsy. After all, they are consorts and already married according to the Book of the Dead (a vampire guidebook of sorts), but Eric is participating in this human ritual so that she will feel that she is really married (Sinclair tricked Betsy into...more

I'm hard pressed to give this two stars. I gave it two only because I am so fond of the other books in the series. I don't know what happened with this one, but it was simply awful.

Betsy is normally a fun character. On the surface, she is always self-centered, childish, and a bit ditzy. What redeems her -- normally -- is her concern for others, her sense of humor, and the fact that she is actually no dummy. In this installment of the Undead series, Betsy spends close to two-thirds of the book c...more

This is the sixth book in the Besty Taylor "Undead" paranormal romance series (and I can't believe the second one I've read this summer. For a quick sum-up, check my past entries for Unead & Unpopular).

Betsy & Sinclair are getting married, despite the fact that they have been vampirically married for almost two years. Just days before running down to the Justice of the Peace to make it official in Betsy's eyes, her father & stepmother die in a car accident. This instantly makes Betsy...more

In this book, Betsy's wedding to Sinclair is just around the corner when he disappears, her father and stepmother are killed in a car accident, she becomes her half-brother's guardian, her personal assistant is stuck in France, the werewolf and the Fiend who live in the basement have disappeared, her best friend is in the hospital with a cancer relapse, the other roommate drops off the face of the earth and isn't returning any calls or emails, her mother is not around, her half-sister (who is li...more
